Lambros M.E.T. cue...

basically the truth is ...

it doesnt matter what you do ... you are still hitting a ball with a leather tip ... doesnt matter what manufacturer ... when you hit the cueball he doesnt care.

you can taper a shft differently ... put different ferrules on ... different tipp / hardness to adjust the hit and harmonics .... but in the end a custom cue isnt going to make you great.

from one manufacturer to the next ... if you can play pool ... you have spent time playing .... not because you have a custom cue from lambros or any other

I agree 100%.
Of all the cue makers I have spoken to over the years Lambros hypes himself up more than anyone I've ever talked to, and by a long shot too.
Talking to this guy is unreal...and annoying too.

I disagree. To me there are differences in cues from one maker to another. There are some I have difficulty playing with, others seem much more suited to my game/play/style. I won't mention the ones I have difficulty with, but certainly my 2 Lambros cues play well, as does my Tucker, Blackcreek, PFD, and some of my Schmelke's. I have 8 or 10 custom and production cues that look great on the rack but they don't work as well for me so they mostly stay in the rack.

in general they are all good cues .... if you can play pool you can adjust to it

True ... you can change your game to suit the cue ... or you can change the cue to suit your game ... I find the latter to be easier and over the decades just stay away from playing with cues that require me to adjust too much (I still own many :) ) ... I can tell within a few shots.

He’s earned the right to be a little arrogant but honestly to actually talk to him he’s a really nice guy. And as a master woodworker and cue maker very few know the craft as well as he does.

Might not make you great but it can make you a helluva lot better. Then again the great ones all use a cue that fit there specific specs so in a way they do make them great.
SVB isn’t playing with a house cue at any tournament or big gambling match.

I actually think he is an arrogant a-hole.
I have done business with, or just talked to, several of the top cue makers and they have been been quite modest and humble in my opinion.
Not so with him, and those cue makers I'm thinking of have also more than "earned the right to be a little arrogant" but they're just not.

He gets paid to use the cues he plays with.... he could probably play with anything ... he might not like the way a cue played, but im sure he could out play 80% of people with any other cue

And the cue is made to his specs. Weight. Length. Taper. Balance point. Tip.

I never said that. I don’t know that answer. I know I’ve never seen a cue with a dual taper butt that I know of. What would be the benefit in your opinion? They certainly aren’t mainstream

Thicker middle, skinnier bottom .
A single angle .840 to 1.275" butt taper will have a fat bottom section of the handle . But skinny bottom of the forearm.

They are not mainstream because a lot of makers have not done enough testing with their cues .
And that it's much easier to make a single angle taper bar or just offset the tailstock when tapering than making a taper bar with two or more angles .

So have you tested dual butt taper cues? And what would be your opinion.
