How many balls a player could hold in one hand is a record still held by Mike Massey?

Records like that are easy to proven because a big hand takes more balls.

But a 14.1 high run, thats more like setting a record that only happens from competition.

You dont hear basketball players saying they made 100% shots for 500 practice three pointers. They only show their practice during a competition.

Or baseball players saying they bat 1.000 practicing against the machine.

Dan the silent majority is with you.

Pool has a history and tradition of poorly choosing statistics to publish.

Check out Pat Fleming he is a innovator and knows more than the BCA cheats.
Didnt Mosconi set his 526 record during an exhibition?? Is an exhibition now the same as a competition??

And yet you confirm high runs are staged because "people on the interweb say so", what are you smoking anyways???

In the academic community its called, actual versus expected.
How many people actually play pool?
Of that group how many actually run 14.1 racks?
Of that group how many can run multiple racks in one inning?
Of that group how many can multiple racks without messing up?
Of that group how many can do that for 300 shots in one inning?

There is the top of a pyramid and then there is a meaningless point of no return.

And your point is????

And your point is????

Unrealistic record is what Danny is saying.

Only records that should count are competition records.

Just like in other pro sports, no one is famous for being the best practice 14.1 high runner.

Says.... oh -- you.

Look, there is value in slam dunks, long drives, home run derbies, and all sorts of other competitions. Just because they are not your cup of tea doesn't mean there isn't value there and that many, many people don't get a kick out of them.

The guys who set the records get/are famous, unlike you.

They set records in groups of people performing the same task.

Unlike individual records set at home.

If you edit together shots, Earl has the most number of pocketed shots in competition both in one year and across multiple years.

Selling DVDs is just that. You can sell anything once its printed.

duh, so what?!

The most free throws; the most home runs; the longest drives.

Get a clue, buy a vowel. No one is suggesting -- other than you --that they are more than they are.

I agreed with Dan early in this thread, the certification process and standards for a high run records are unclear and vaguely scrutinized. Its more of a pay to make record than it is an actual record from competition.

I am here to support him from the trolls.

The guidelines are/were what they are/were.

And now, the BCA has made the guidance clearer. BFD. So basically at this point you're the troll.

Competitive records remain in play. High runs attempts are a separate beast -- stop trying to conflate them.

My point is the BCA was not policing methods of cheating for setting the record. They make the rules and they should know how people try to break them. But its not clear in this case.

How about you tell us how they are cheating so we can look out for it?? Or better yet, how about a youtube video of how exactly this cheating is being done. It would be great for honest pool players. Thanks.

My current computer is not strong enough to fake a pool table with realistic motions.
They have deep fakes of faces. Deep fakes of a pool table are easier.

All a player would have to do is be filmed stroking the table and a computer can add in the pool balls and runouts.

What about all the people who are there to witness it live? Are they robots or something. You sir are a fool!

Sounds like you and Dan are on the same page. Is there a possibility that you two can go in together and buy a deep faking PC? There is a chance of plenty of stroking and we can all checkout the cheaters?
