I'm a little confused myself. Maybe they will have video snippets of Shaw and Derby and other pool events too. But they titled the segment of the "60 Minutes" episode as "The South Dakota Kid."I thought the segment was supposed to be about Shaw?

Yeah it matters. I’m not watching anything on Jason the scumbag piece of trash Shaw.Does it really matter who it is? Something needs to be done to get this sport out of the doldrums and in front of the populace. It’s lingered too long in dark smoky rooms, basements, bars and UTube.
Has he hurt your feelings? We’ll see that you get your bottle filled with tepid milk and your binky.Yeah it matters. I’m not watching anything on Jason the scumbag piece of trash Shaw.
I think this is a pretty good guess.
I believe they started out looking to do a story on pool and, as the teaser said, map the sport's progress in becoming a professional sport. Back in January they spent time at the DCC and interviewed Jayson and recently double-checked to make sure they had Bobby's permission to use footage from his recording of Jayson's run. Over the rest of the year it seems they followed up recording more stuff to round out the segment and perhaps decided that Shane's story, particularly post world championship (and for American viewers), was the most compelling storyline.
In any event it's all good and hopefully a positive story on the sport.

They started the production about Pool & Shane. As they were at Derby just a couple days after Jayson Shaw topped Mosconi's 14.1 record I talked to a producer and gave them the news and later that day they interviewed Jayson. After Derby they flew out to South Dakota then flew to Connecticut and went to Jayson's pool room for another interview.I'm a little confused myself. Engaging content is needed to generate interest.Pool needs to parley the SVB and Janette Lee segments to its advantage.
Pool needs to parley the SVB and Janette Lee segments to its advantage. Get it out and keep it out of the basement. Establish a strict dress code and conduct code for tournaments and streaming. Establish a governing body with a president, board members and trained officials. Have consistent uniform rules adopted by a governing body as the USGA has done with golf. Establish a definition and criteria to distinguish amateurs from professionals. The sport is too fragmented and is run by equipment manufacturers.
I couldn’t agree more. It’s more like wallpaper. I don t know if it’s his hearing issues or the state he’s from or both. He not the face of pool. Stayer, Filler and Ghorst are younger and more demonstrative. Some might say Shaw if he had a years worth of charm school.Engaging content is needed to generate interest.
SVB has the personality of a cardboard box.

As far as I know this is all new.Does anyone know if this is at all linked to the filming crew that was at DCC some 10 years ago? I think Bentivegna was involved with that. I recall him saying it was a big time crew, but maybe he didn't spill the beans completely at that time. I recall they were trying to film the action room when I saw them. I know it's a decade apart, but if it was 60min then, maybe they would have some sort of a progression.
And Jeanette's documentary premieres on ESPN on the 13th. Should be a good month for pool.
