J pechauer Cues , Are they decent for a Custom Cue or just another Factory deal

A local cue repair guy showed me his method of making a 5 /16 -14 match up to a pechauer joint.
I haven’t tried doing one myself, but the two he did for me (mezz with 5/16) work great, and still work fine on standard 5/16 shafts.
He took a drill bit that was slightly larger than the measurement from the bottom of the threads and drilled the first part of the 5/16 threaded insert “smooth”.
The inner details of the insert are the same as pechauer’s design then.
That allows a Pechauer butt to accept a (altered) 5/16 shaft....

Apparently, this is a fairly common practice in the cue repair circles.

Pecheuer is production Cue, good to play pool with, not Custom one of a kind work of art. Dead friend use to play with a Pecheuer.

Pricy for production Cue like Schon, both are well made.

If you ar the local Pool Room no one is going to say wow, or try to steal from you, yes they could steal, but it not a good payback like a Scrugg's, Black Bore, or in demand Cue to steal & put on e-bay.:D

Almost 3 years later....
What is everyone's opinion on Pechauer cues now?
3 years later? Pechauer cues have been around for a very long time. I’m not crazy about their shaft options (compared to Mezz for instance) but their cue butts are absolutely beautiful and their finish is as good as it gets.

They are a small company and their customer service is impeccable. When you order a cue and they tell you when it will be ready (maybe a week or so if in stock to no more than 8-10 weeks if they have to custom make it for you) you can count on it being ready to ship when they tell you.

I also wouldn’t hesitate sending a really nice valuable cue to them to repair / refinish - you can trust they’ll do a great job and it will be done when they tell you it will.

I'm from Wisconsin and they support pool, players, and youth bigtime. I haven't tried one yet, but one day when I was at Mad Apple, they had a beautiful nowrap that I almost came home with.

My player has been a Pechauer Pro for 10+ years. Played with their regular shaft until 2-3 ago when I bought their Rogue carbon shaft. I don't really like the Cynergy and Revo. I found the Rogue was the easiest one to adjust to has it has a wood feeling when you hit.

Being in Mtl, I'm the only one in my pool room with a Pechauer. Most people play with Predator, Cuetec, JFlowers (the new flavor of the month) and a few with Schon. I've let a few of the better players (SL9's) shoot with my Pechauer to try it as they inquired about my cue. Everyone likes it a lot, hit and feeling wise.

As far as customer service, I wrote to them when I originally bought the cue for some info. Scott Douglas replied fast and gave me all the info I needed on the cue and more.

I recently picked up my 4th ‘Peach’ after getting my first one about a dozen years ago after playing with a Viking for 20+ years.

I’m no cue aficionado, and I’m certain other cue brands are terrific, but I’m a lifer and sticking with what I know and like.

I'm just curious because I just ordered my first Pechauer. I'm a little impatient and I've got 4-5 weeks to go before I get it.
