Albin and Jasmin Ouschan.
Additionally their Dad has been an Austrian Champion multiple times and won two bronze and one silver medal at European Championships.I’ll add the Ouschan family to the mix.
I was vaguely aware of them….here’s Fred III….his father, Fred II was also great…what a talent pool the Lindrums were. There were a couple of Fred's as well.
Albin's match may have taken over 4 hours to finish, but it seemed as if the last two Gangflot-Filler games alone took nearly half that time!
Not that I'm complaining. Those last two games were epic.

Cool to see part timers doing so well. They would be strong team in World Cup of Pool next week but am surprised that Portugal is not in itBig names going down!
Huge respect to Miguel Silva and João Grilo, two part time, full amateur players, that have the skills but not the support to do life from pool. This is Legendary stuff for portuguese pool.
Yes, lack of a shot clock doesn't allow slow play but, instead, ensures it. I haven't yet watched this tournament. Once I sign on to DAZN and see that they are playing without a shot clock, I turn it off.The 4 big names remaining are slow without clock so thank good shot clock is coming in last 16 or quarters
A shot clock for only the Last 16 is what Matchroom has been doing of late in their big tournaments -- 2023 UK Open, 2023 World Pool, 2022 US Open, 2022 European Open.Yes, lack of a shot clock doesn't allow slow play but, instead, ensures it. I do understand that it's OK to have no shot clock in Stage 1 but seeing it today in Stage 2 was disheartening.
Delighted to hear that the shot clock is coming for Days 5 and 6. Now I can watch!

I was discussing this tournament with my other half yesterday, and his summation about Eklent Kaci is that he's managed to conquer the break, that his break in addition to his shot-making skills, is what has excelled him in recent times. He said Shane Van Boening also "used to" have that big break, but that for whatever reason, it's not working for him at this time. He said it's those "gaffe jump cues" that shouldn't be allowed in pool. Gaffe jump cues? What? According to him, they got rid of the gaffe golf clubs in professional golf, and they should do the same thing in pool.
I remember after Joe Tucker's book came out about racking and breaking secrets that everybody and anybody would check the rack before breaking and argue if it wasn't "just right."
In the Matchroom events, I've noticed not one breaker checks the rack. My question, however, is even with that diamond-shaped racking thingie they use to rack, how does the breaker know if he's getting a good rack? Are the referees giving each breaker the exact same rack? Speaking of referees, where are the snooker referees?
You hear the commentators speak quite often about how the breaker is breaking. In order for the break to be working, they must have the perfect rack, and I don't buy it that every rack is perfect.
Yeah. Tables are brutal. Pockets so tight that even players like Filler like more safe than attack...Yes, haven't seen Filler play so slow before. Number of safeties he played must be the more than whole year put together
