It took a few years to sort it out, but it ended up a master stroke by Mike. Ban CTE from the main forum and move it to the aiming forum. Then ban those who can't stop with the CTE hysteria from posting in the aiming forum. The new forum software allowed that to happen. I think the aiming forum is like a sacrificial anode that protects the main forum from decay. Plus, every once in awhile JB provides a chuckle. I say let the aiming forum stay.Do you miss it? I don't think there's enough to the topic to support an active forum (which was only created to quarantine CTE).

I'm not sure I like being part of a sacrificial anode. It doesn't seem to hurt, though. It took a few years to sort it out, but it ended up a master stroke by Mike. i think its more important to have a stroke delivery that is accurate and repeatableI try to introduce aiming ideas from time to time. Maybe there's not much more to say, though.
I’m not familiar with that use of “anode”. Can you translate?I think the aiming forum is like a sacrificial anode that protects the main forum from decay.
Sure.I’m not familiar with that use of “anode”. Can you translate?

Besides the marine application, water heaters use an anode to prevent corrosion. Someone told me that you can greatly extend the life of a water heater by replacing the anode. (Seems like they could just make it bigger to start with.)I’m not familiar with that use of “anode”. Can you translate?

When I was renovating a store 19 years ago the plumber doing a lot of work suggested I consider replacing the water heater as it had already been there awhile and looked like it might go. I think it was a Mark Wilson clinic I was watching, he said the misses are caused by failing to deliver the cue ball accurately, not by failing to aim accurately. That said, I do seem to have trouble when hitting less than half ball. I'm aiming the center of the cue ball, and it's easier if that goes through the object ball than near the object ball. Then again, some days I'm draining them so I must have something I just can't tap into consistently.i think its more important to have a stroke delivery that is accurate and repeatable
I don't like calling it bullshit but it is. I have put a lot of effort to research and practice of aiming and still i know most of my misses is caused by aiming error.I think it was a Mark Wilson clinic I was watching, he said the misses are caused by failing to deliver the cue ball accurately, not by failing to aim accurately. with all due respect as you play way better than i doI don't like calling it bullshit but it is. I have put a lot of effort to research and practice of aiming and still i know most of my misses is caused by aiming error.
I know how to aim all shots any spin but still fail to do so.
Lining up shot incorrectly on aiming line is aiming error.
Thanks for your replyMaybe my words were little harsh but i see everyone praise that Wilsons clinic and not question anything he says. I see players practicing their strokes year after year and it is nearly perfect.. Still they are not improving. If we would see shot right like Wilson claims they should be world champions.
I believe stroke errors come to our play when we are uncertain of cut. My stroke with left hand is far worse than right. I still can make near century breaks on snooker with it. Also i play virtual pool games where everyone have always perfect stroke. People miss same shots same way like real world.
