How much does it cost to turn a linen-wrapped cue to wrapless?

Hello. Just as the title states, I'm looking to strip my cue of it's ugly linen wrap to being wrapless.

Does anyone know how much time is involved and how much one can expect to pay?

Thank you!

What do you want the cue to look like when it's finished? Nice wood where the wrap was?

Meucci effectively gets a wrapless cue when they put a polyurethane finish over a linen wrap. That might be a solution. It would stay clean at least.

I actually did just that, I took the wrap off an old Vector cue sanded and stained it to look not bad.

@Michael Webb <-- I have seen his wrapless conversions
Thank you. I'm not taking any work like this. My hands are full.
To the OP:
Yes, it can be done without breaking the bank.
The goal was/is, to take a wrapped Cue and make it wrapless without changing the handle and more importantly NOT change the playability of the Cue.
Just need some knowledge and imagination.

This does not answer your question but maybe put a nice leather wrap on... leather looks/feels great. And might be cheaper than
filling- refinishing what you have now.

If you only took off the wrap, sanded, and stained it, how did you deal with the wrap channel?
I put some black rings on both ends of the wrap channel to make it look better. Is it a Herman Rambow, of course not but is it perfectly functional abosulely. I really like the feel of that narrow wrap channel as well!
