How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

So all you guys saying this table plays wrong, this is what I’ve experienced for the past 20 years on Diamonds. Not all of them, but maybe half of them. And the funny part is it’s often not even every shot on the same table. That’s why I and other’s call them pin ball machines. Both on 7’ blue, 7’ red, 9’ blue, 9’ red. If this was your overwhelming Diamond experience, what would you think of them?

The rest of the table is great. The support of the sport is great. The reaction of the balls off the cushion stinks.

Shooter not the table ...just my .02 and not trying to offend or argue. I'm married and never right. Waiting to hear from our King of Cobras.
Did you see the video? The ball bounced like a super ball inside a pin ball machine. Ignoring the short angle part for a moment, do you think the speed part is normal. It could have been a banger shooting instead of the original poster, who is an experienced player. It is clear as day.

Is the OP the shooter?

That's my understating reading his comments, that he is certain he hit center ball, and he tested 30 some tables and they were all the same.

But again, if it was a banger shooting, it wouldn't make a difference for the pin ball effect.

Standard nose height is 1.406" which is 62.5% of a standard 2 1/4" ball. Diamond tables are typically 1.453".

To explain why it is that you may not like the way that Diamond tables play:
Diamond tables require a higher nose height because they use Artemis cushions, installed upside-down. Installing the cushion with the rounded surface facing down creates a lower contact point on the ball, than if the flat side of the cushion were facing down. This creates inconsistency in rebound speed, dependent on the speed at which a ball hits the cushion. This is also why Diamond tables tend to bank short.
Wrong, only the 9fts have Artemis cushions on them. 7fts have MBS Black K55 cushions.

The artemis cushion is only installed on their 9' tables. Their 7' table have the diamond brand rubber, with less of nose radius. Both bounce way shorter and way faster than every other table ever made since the beginning of time. Wow, I just can't believe diamond cushions took hold in pool. Every other part of their table is great. The cushions, yuk!!!
Diamond black cushions are installed on a lot of GC's buddy, play just fine!!

I'm going to put this thread to rest, and here it goes!

1) how the balls are cleaned effect how they play!

2) humidity is more noticeable on worsted woolen cloth as FRICTION, balls don't slide worth a shit!

3) moving tables into new venues constantly does NOT allow time for the tables to acclimate to the new environment they're in!

4) ALL tables AND cloth show the effects of humidity and what the balls are polished with!!

5) I have a few 100 Diamond tables in my AREA of Washington State, Iusedtoberich, make a BIG bet before you come here and fall flat on your ass trying to back your claims up!!!

Now, to prove my point, and make ALL of you look like you don't know shit, take some Armor All, spray it on a rag, wipe the nose of the cushions down with it, and guess what happens!!! NO MORE FRICTION! No humidity effects, NO banking short, NO balls hopping off the rails!

WHY CAN SOMETHING SO SIMPLE HAVE SUCH AN EFFECT ON HOW A POOL TABLE PLAYS?????

I'm a very experienced player and there's no way that only typical conditions accounted for this. Something is wrong with rails, cloth install or table. Did you even watch the video?

Nothing wrong with Diamonds, this is just a fluke. Probably a setup issue. I have a set of Artemis and a set of Superspeed rails built by two of the best in the industry and they bank basically the same. Do a search and you can see the videos I posted here a few years ago and see for yourself.

Yes, nothing new, I have experience in this area, what do you have?
