LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!Variable #x. Or maybe GoldCrowns are better than Diamonds.
Here's the thing. With enough practice you can also get really good at not gagging when eating a piece of crap. Still doesn't mean you should be eating crap. Just means you've grown accustomed to doing it. If you make eating crap a part of your regular diet. Then you may even smile while slurping it back. To those who aren't forced to, or voluntarily partake in eating crap. The process of doing so is repulsive and almost certainly will incite reactions and/or comments. This is what we have here. Regardless of the supposed reason. The play of that table is crap. The shooter is being forced to "eat it". Reaction is warranted.I don’t seem to have a problem controling the ball on them and either do other good players. Maybe you need to spend time practicing instead of crying on az lol
Regardless of the system you choose to use. If you're trying to pot the CB in the corner, shooting from where you started, with no english, and hit this spot on the rail, you should expect it to be short.Do you know in kicking systems you aim at the diamond, not the rail in front of the diamond? I was slightly off but the effect is massive. Even more surprising is the reaction off the 2rd rail when it comes back
Only at KnightLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Surely, you jest, sir.
They play goodAnd yet, the canvas is still impregnated into the top of the cushions, NOT underneath!! They're mounted as Diamond was instructed to do by the Artemis manufacturer!!! Yet we still have some who believe they know more than the manufacturer does!!
OP has been playing over 20 years. That makes it even. Even worse than before.I've played pool for over 50+ years
We are great. We will we will rock you. You can not love and hate at the same time. That’s like turning on the hot water and cold water together. It’s like using the heat and A/C at the same time. It’s up and down. Forward and backward. You can only be in one place … where are you. Lover or Hater. Don’t hate the players. Don’t hate the rules. Don’t hate the game. End Hate. End discrimination. End me … fk this thread I’m going to breakfast. Microwave oatmealYou know what?? ....... You guys are GREAT! All of you. I both hate and love this thread.
So you want people to apply a extra slippery compound to the balls so they slide against the rail to compensate for the rail's natural tendency to bank short..? You could just as easily ask them to shove wedges under the legs of the opposite side of the table. For all you complainers about how the Diamonds play, I have a little test you can perform on your own. This test will eliminate the effects from the type of cloth on the tables, the humidity, dirty cloth, everything, leaving only the cushions and the player at fault for any excuses when it comes to banks.
Take the balls, put them in a ball polisher, clean and shine them with JOHNSONS PASTE FLOOR WAX!!!!! Then come back and report your stupid excuses about banking short!!!!
I challenge ANYONE to do this!!!!
What ever you do, DON'T clean the cue ball with the JOHNSONS PASTE FLOOR WAX![]()
really

baby. A big ass bowl of it.
Hu, I'm gonna say its camera angle and he hit centerball. Who knows for sure. We weren't there standing behind him. A"Z"shot at half table is a bit of a tricky shot. That 2nd angle is small,(tight). Personally, I would have put maybe a quarter of running English,(in this case Left), and a bit more speed. Too much speed or English puts it in the corner to his left. You needa bit more speed to keep a little spin for when the ball hits the 2nd rail. 2nd rail gives the ball anti-clockwise which makes the angle tighten up and the speed to slowdown. He hit it slowand the bal died on the 2nd rail. That said: a "Z" shot is a bit tougher to execute on a Diamond vs. a Gold Crown.Wowser! I think I can offend pretty much everyone in the thread at one shot. However, I am going to add a caveat. Cameras lie, still shots or video. Without knowing things like lens setting and distance from the table and ball it can mean a lot or almost nothing.
I watched the video repeatedly and judging from the video, the ball was hit short unless he was shooting to pocket the ball in the corner across from him. Also, the video does seem to show a bit of right.
Now about that roll off of the second rail after the english died, according to the video the cue ball curved out from the bottom rail, that needs some 'splaining as Desi would tell Lucy!
According to the video, I would say that both shooter and table had some flaws showing. However, shooting pool mostly in the swamp but occasionally in very dry air, Diamonds are very environmentally sensitive. In soggy New Orleans even the blue labels want to bank short. The same tables in Dallas need very little adjustment, they play just a touch short as any rubber cushion will, and are easily compensated for. The soggy tables in New Orleans are part of the home field advantage!
I wonder if the rails on this table in the video could benefit from a torque wrench applied to the bolts? I have found the Diamond tables to be a bit temperamental. Environment as already mentioned but a less than highly skilled mechanic can have the tables looking great and playing awful too! Some of the worst playing tables I ever played on were almost new Diamonds that had been recovered once, maybe twice.
As I said at the beginning, the table and the shot looked a bit flawed unless the target was the pocket the cue ball finished nearest, a two rail shot. That looked like slow rolling on that table would get anyone in trouble without a major adjustment for table roll. I'll still weasel and say that video isn't bible though.
A side note since some might not know, 100% humidity is fog, not rain. I have played many times in a little bar that would exchange pretty much all of the air around the pool tables if the front and back door happened to open at the same time. I have had to wipe condensation off of the rails of the tables in there many times because my hands were getting wet shooting off of the rails.
To sum up: The shot looks short for a one rail kick, should have been aimed at the spot on the cushion even with the point, not the point. Also again, just judging by the picture and video, there was a little right on the cue ball. Both of these things are shortening up the kick. Then there is another basic rule of thumb, adjourning rails add running english making the ball kick or bank comparatively long. Opposite rails, Z banks, shorten the ball's path coming off of the rail.
The slight spin on the cue ball, the normal effect of a z-bank or z-kick, we are seeing what we would see on any table made although some will certainly show the effects more than others.
Hu
Of course you missed the point, it's called elimination of all outside interface, leaving only the player and the cushions to be evaluated! If the problem with banking short is the cushions as everyone claims, the banking short should still be a problem, right?????So you want people to apply a extra slippery compound to the balls so they slide against the rail to compensate for the rail's natural tendency to bank short..? Putting a bandaid on a cut stops only the bleeding. It doesn't fix the cut...lol

except for mine for some unknown reason lolUnder those same conditions, all other brand tables will bank and kick long. That's why I have "under similar cloth, ball, and environmental conditions" bolded on my Diamond Tables Banking and Kicking Short resource page. If you want to compare different pool tables or different brands, you need to do so under the same conditions (ball, cloth, and environmental). All tables bank longer with new/slick cloth with polished balls in dry conditions, and all tables bank shorter with old/dirty cloth and balls under humid conditions. The point is this: Diamond tables (especially unmodified Red Labels and bar boxes) bank much shorter than all other brand tables when comparing them under similar cloth, ball, and environmental conditions.
I understand what you said, loose or tight cloth can have an effect as well. I'm simply stating a fact, and that is that those effects can be counter effected with Johnsons floor paste wax, to make all tables immune the the environment effects for the most part.Under those same conditions, all other brand tables will bank and kick long. I just watched a few of the recorded matches, tables played just fine!!!!From Badboys Texas State Championships. Blue label 7ft Diamonds. Incredibly short rails even at slow speeds. Cue ball doesn't slow down much. I assume rails were replaced or something wrong with cloth install? Never seen anything like it on a Diamond

To be clear... I love Diamond tables! Just these ones are screwed up
