How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

So all you guys saying this table plays wrong, this is what I’ve experienced for the past 20 years on Diamonds. Not all of them, but maybe half of them. And the funny part is it’s often not even every shot on the same table. That’s why I and other’s call them pin ball machines. Both on 7’ blue, 7’ red, 9’ blue, 9’ red. If this was your overwhelming Diamond experience, what would you think of them?

The rest of the table is great. The support of the sport is great. The reaction of the balls off the cushion stinks.
Earl regularly calls them pinball machines! He says "boing!" all the time playing on them

They didn’t go out of business. They just bailed out of Cali for Portland Tn just like everybody from there (at least it feels that way). I had an Olhausen and it was a very well built table. I sold it when I restored my Centennial.
Yes, We hashed that out already. Olhausen went Bankrupt, and the co. was taken private. Still in business.

I had Artemis cushions installed on my Centennial. But, to get it to play correctly, Mark Gregory changed the subrail angle. It plays sweet. FTR, Mark wanted to install Super Speeds. He did an excellent job on my rails. If Diamond had adopted the dimensions that Mark used on my table, this convo wouldn’t be occurring.

Diamond makes the best built table period. They just bank short. The dirtier the cloth, the shorter the bank angle.
It was told to me that Brunswick had a Unique type cushion on their Anniversaries and Centennials. This was wayyyy back when. Were they unique,or was it the advent of Superspeed?

What are you smoking man? We all know “Brunswick Billiards” has been sold several times over the years. As long as they are still selling tables, it would be in their best interest to sell many tables. It does not matter who their corporate parent changes to. I even bought Escalade stock when they acquired Brunswick Billiards. I just sold it a couple months ago for a loss as it doesn’t seem they are doing anything whatsoever to advance the brand.

I emailed the contact us email on Brunswickbilliards.com. I also private messaged the Brunswick billiards Facebook page maybe 4 times in the past 2 years. All have gone unanswered.

Your tirades don’t make any sense.
Do you honestly think, just to satisfy people like you, Escalade is going to take NEW GC's, deliver and set them up in events they would have to BID on acquiring in the first place, pay mechanics to set up, then tear back down, then sell them as USED tables? NO table manufacturers get PAID to supply 9ft pool tables for any of the major tournaments, on the contrary, they PAY the promoters to use their equipment, so ADD that cost to turning NEW tables into used tables. Then, there's the cost of the venue location, the longer it takes to set up the equipment, the more THAT adds to the cost of supporting the pool tournaments YOU want to see them used in!!! Last time I checked, Brunswick DON'T build a roll in, flip down, level, and ready to play 9ft!!!

If you lost money on Escalade stock, you deserved to lose it, because I bet you bought it thinking it would go up because of buying Brunswick!!!!

You were lied to, they had the same cushions as the GC1,2,& early 3's had, and the rest of the Brunswick tables, Monarch Superspeeds.

Don't know where you got your information, but I'd double check on it if I were you, because I know Donny Olhausen, and I've never heard anything like this before!

Every single word you typed boils down to the cost of advertising. If Brunswick Billiards (under their new parent corporation) chooses to advertise by showcasing their tables at professional events, they will figure out how to do it. ALL forms of advertising under the sun are a cost vs benefit proposition.

And demand determines sales, and BRUNSWICK has LOST a lot of brick and morter store locations NO LONGER carrying BRUNSWICK pool tables! So, gow does THAT figure in!!

Do you really think you are the only one who knows things? Did Predator consult your greatness? Did Rasson consult your greatness? They will probably be eating Diamond’s lunch in the USA in 5 years. Without your sacred knowledge to boot.

It's your right to dream, and to stick your foot in your mouth as well!!

What makes you think I'd offer my services to EITHER company you mentioned??? Even IF they asked me, nicely, with pumpkin pie, and cool whip on top!!!

I doubt that. You had the chance to redo the diamond table cushions and you blew it. If it was me, I would have designed experiments to get to the bottom of it. That's my dayjob. Maybe have test rails that could be adjusted up and down and for angle. Try multiple cushion brands. Try old and new cloth. Try dry and humid conditions. Even testing inside a steam bathroom could have worked in a pinch to see how the rails react if an environmental chamber was too costly. And first things first, I would have copied the GC rail exactly, and found their superspeed vendor and contracted them to make me cushions. Only if that didn't work well for some reason would I have done all these experiments.

Did you even put WORN simonis cloth on a bed and cushion set when you were experimenting with the Blue rails before they went into the production tables? What did you do? What was your R&D? What expreirmeints did you run? Did you take notes? Maybe you kept it all in your head?

If if if if, if the frog had wings, it wouldn't bust it ass everytime it jumped! Again, you don't know shit!!

I Think your in the wrong generation.
I've never cared for green cloth, I prefer the blue or grey, easier on the eyes.
Goldcrowns would need some proper updating and fix the fit and finish and QC problems
Ball colors I can get behind that
Racks I got nothing against the template racks
What is wrong with the cue balls?
I think having to dress like going to church or a wedding to play pool is a stupid idea. Stick with snooker.
Snooker is successful for a reason but I got a feeling from your response to me that you’re too young and new. I kept hearing about this blue being easier on the eyes non sense only from pool players when in reality and scientifically it isn’t true. Green is always easier on the eyes for centuries. In fact the only reason why all pocket billiards been green for ages including billiards and snooker is because it’s the best for the eyes and tv. But Simonis came and changed that to blue then lied to people that it’s easier on the eyes and sheep’s just went yea ok it is lol.

Ok here’s the most important part. My suggestions above will work 100% and will bring more money and viewership into pool I got 100% confidante about that but here’s the kicker. These suggestions aren’t meant to please you or the young player generation like yourself because you would go with the masses around you and believer nonsense just like you believed gray is good because matchroom used it. Listen maybe you do believe this but I don’t care. I’m giving suggestions that benefit pool for the Nonplayer and people at home they don’t play pool/ not for you. That’s the trick that you need to understand. Gray cloth look dead and dull. Blue cloth too bright and hurt the eyes. Imagine snooker played on blue clothes, it will die. There’s a reason why snooker is always successful they didn’t put red dots on cueball. They kept their tradition.

Even my wife who don’t play pool or snooker watches snooker with me for a lengthy long match. But whenever I put pool guess what happens?? She sleeps or leaves she tells me this game isn’t as good as the other one… what she meant is pool isn’t as good as snooker but she doesn’t know their names.

Listen all you need to do is changes that benefit the viewership for people who don’t play pool. Stop thinking about yourself. Math room told you blue better on the eyes when it’s scientifically wrong and you believed it?? We don’t care. I care about nonpool players here. I want a guy who never played pool to look at it and say ok let me watch more… the only way it’s gona happen if you follow my suggestions
