I wonder how let's say a popular room would react to opening up a couple hours earlier if there was enough interest in hosting a clinic on weekends for youngsters. Maybe have an instructor or a couple decent players helping out. Have a reduced rate, serve breakfast etcI used to work in one that opened at 10am.

Wellllll... Okay. I will admit I went on a tear in Colorado where every large tournament I played for 6 months, I placed top three. I did win my first regional event in that stretch. Double-dipped the straight shooting young guy that went undefeated to the finals. None of these events got reported to Fargorate...No sub 600 is 5 packing anything on a pool table.
People be driving cars with no license too.
You ever played Scott before? I played him a few years back, had him down 5-0, 6-0 in the first few games of our One Pocket match at DCC, and he was huffing and puffing like a steam locomotive in my ear, with every decent shot I made. Borrowed my TipPik, and forgot to return it after the match. Not a particularly big surprise to me that 1. Hunter called him on the foul, and 2. That the crowd stood behind Hunter on the called foul. Scott is an incredibly bad loser. You don't necessarily see it on the stream, as he knows the world is watching...He definitely earned a little respect from me on it.
The pool hall closest to me opens at 3PM, and is the only place in the immediate area that is more pool hall than bar. (7x Diamond bar boxes + 1 9-foot diamond they just put in). Then there are a few more area bars with 1-2 bar boxes that are also a part of the pool scene, meaning you don't look out of place bringing in your own cues there on a weekday and they host leagues (but if it's a weekend you're better off leaving the cues at home). The earliest one opens 11AM, the latest one opens 5PM I think? What time do the poolrooms with alcohol open in the US?
It was a hat tip, not an invite to my home. Take a breath, bud.You ever played Scott before? I know Hunter, and zero chance he called a foul that was not in fact, a foul.
A couple of Turning Stone's ago, Shane was playing.....I think if was Johnny Archer. Johnny had on a sweater kind of thing over his shirt, and on a shot where he was leaning out over the table, Shane called him for his sleeve touching another ball. Johnny had the material pushed up past his elbows and it was that "elbow to armpit" area that touched. Didn't look like anything moved, but Shane called it and it was ruled a foul. Seemed like Johnny was extremely unhappy with that turn of events, but didn't make a scene.
I believe that Mike Zuglan now has cue ball fouls only at the TS events, and I'm guessing that call is why.
Yes, I think you are correct.didn't johnny concede the match and leave? that's how i remember it going down
Lot of Americans are way too used to playing cue ball fouls only. Euro pros often play all ball fouls in national leagues, so they are used to it, and accept it as part of the game.didn't johnny concede the match and leave? that's how i remember it going down
I've found it easier to go to matchroom home page, hit livescoer and then go down to bracketsIs there a URL link that shows live scores ONLY for the matches in progress, like the ones you see in many other tournaments? Here the live scores are all intermingled with past results and upcoming matches, which makes for a lot of PITA scrolling.
Key words here are "AT PRO LEVEL". 4.5" is too tight for your average commercial recreation crowd. I grew up in a nice post-Hustler GoldCrown1 room with standard 5-inchers. Place was packed and people had fun. I totally agree that a couple tight ones are fine. There's little difference in pocketing balls on a 4 vs 4.5 inch pocket table. Especially at pro level. Most players rooms have a tight pocket table or two and the better players thrive on them.

And he disappeared from active pro pool play shortly thereafter!!didn't johnny concede the match and leave? that's how i remember it going down
MR has had a horrible website for 10 years at least. Agree, this new layout is not an improvement.![]()
The redesigned MR website is worse than before, lots of visuals graphics but navigation is hopeless. For eg. Schedule of events use to be simply summarised nicely in 1 page now it is bunch of colors and takes forever to scroll and see all events https://matchroompool.com/schedule/
I dunno, but he certainly doesn't seem to be having a problem with these "horribly playing" Diamond rails, and 4" pockets. On a three pack so far, with a shot at the lowest ball.Is Lee Van Corteza the last pro player to have a solid wood shaft with a long ferrule?
