Fedor Departs CueTec...?

I don't think there really is a market for Shoes and Apparel. It's more putting logos on shirts and collars. There isn't a big enough market for someone to have their own shoe line for an example. Maybe in Vietnam or the Philippines.

He was the first person I paid any attention to switching cues regularly, albeit in a different cuesport. He would play snooker with all kinds of fancy custom made things. Which really got snooker players and enthusiasts talking about the 'One cue for life' mentality that exists in the sport.
It encouraged a slight reshuffling of the cue-maker/sponsor roster, and helped shine some light on who makes whose cue, who is just re-badging a cue with a sponsor's name etc etc I guess they'll end up like pool cues soon, not really being much more than branded nonsense....

Well there is a table with pockets and balls played with a stick so it is comparable. They get sponsors also so I think this fits in this convo, and I started this thread and dont have an issue talking other cue sports with cue sponsorships and changing equipment.

Then why ask specifically about FEDOR GORST?? Its your thread title, no?? What does snooker player cue choice have to do with FG and his POOL cue choice?

Get a grip :) Bingham plays any sport that will pay him. He's pretty decent too. It's all relevant RE: this thread.
Bingham uses McDermott pool cues too if that helps you.
Player contracts to cue companies are interesting, as those are the cues we choose to buy, or the branding/advertising narratives that guide ours, and new players, interests in the sport/hobby

I think discussing the frequency, need and effect of cue changes is interesting, relevant to the post and not encompassing just Fedor.
 
I am a real fan of svb, as many are, and his endorsement seems to make cuetec more attractive for various reasons. My main playing cue is a cuetec avid era 4pt w/wrap. I alternate between a cynergy carbon fiber shaft and the Avid era wood shaft. What is nice about their wood shaft is that it is glass coated, giving it almost the smoothness of carbon fiber. I'm glad he won the 8 ball tournament recently, he is such a great player and ambassador to the game!

Get a grip???? Seriously????? Did you by chance read the thread title and the opening question?? Unless i'm blind there was only the question about Fedor's changing brands. BTW, there is a SNOOKER section on this forum and if i was curious about what snooker pro used what cue that would my first stop. Just to be nice i left you a little nugget in that section.
 
I'll bet he goes wherever Oscar ended up, Lucassi? I remember hearing Oscar talk about his new sponsor. He was discussing how they had made changes and had tried some new things he always wanted to do to a cue. He was very pleased that they would try it and that they worked! He and Fedor are very close.

I don't think it was particularly off-topic. But I'm not a particularly conflict driven person, so doesn't matter so much. The snooker section on this forum, is... well... you would go to a better forum :) Stuart Bingham plays pool, and uses McDermott (also changes cues regularly). It's an online forum, some threads wildly deviate from the topic... Discussing the frequency of cue changes, and whether it even matters, is relevant to the thread imo. Some may or may not see it that way :)
It's interesting that many players in snooker, cricket, probably other cue/bat/object based sports, change branding, but probably just sticker up something that is custom-made... so, even if Fedor changes, does it even matter that much is a valid point?

I had a chance to play with P20-R and P20-K and I would characterize them this way - P20-R is quite similar with both power and deflection to ExPro shaft but with slightly better feedback while P20-K has a power similar to cf shafts, deflection so low I dont have to deal with it at all unless I play some extreme powershot shot with sidespin and the feedback is similar to a solid and quite stiff maple shaft. I didnt know such combo was possible yet here it is. I was told that only 3-4 out of 10.000 shaft blanks actually qualify for K category (and for "K"-level treatment) therefore the brutal price tag. Honestly? I dont care as long as the cue plays THIS way :D With other cuemakers (even with Mezz) it is often about a good luck to get the better shaft (I had three WX900 shafts in the past, every one of them played differently), with Peri you get what you pay for :)

The k is a very nice shaft but I’ll take an ExPro any day over one even if they were priced the same

didn't read any posts, but if the cue your hittin' with does NOT play as well as the one your using.

I think I remember correctly, Souquet at some poing in time and maybe still now was asked to represent a cuemaker.
He turned em down because he said, I'm using what I've got.... end of story.

soquet has changed more than once for the $$. they can play with anything. i've heard rumor that Gorst is going with a US made cue.
