Rhino CF shafts....159bux, free ship

I've hit both on the same day. Really couldn't tell much diff. to be honest. Squirt was about the same to me. A little 'pingier' than the Cyn. but not as much as the Revo i tried.
Awesome good to hear, I'm looking forward to it. I'm not saying I'll give up wood but if I like how it plays I'll sure not miss steaming out dings every few months and dealing with maintenance.

Thx Zar, didn't go to the site, anyone know what the inner packing is made of?

OK, I guess with PayPal I should be protected.
Now the only decision is should I buy 2.
Sale last until nov 27

A third of the Cost (compared to the leading brands)...
If the Rhino is only half as good as the above... you would still win

But, I've tested a friends rhino (29in, 12,5mm) and there was yery little difference to the market leaders
there are no issues (the overall quality is a little south, deflection is a little north, Tip-quality is a little south),
nothing one cannot get used to

I just orered one

A close friend and I ordered some partial CF shafts and made the filling and inserts for the joint and ferrule ourselfs (on a maschinist lathe).
We tried different materials as well as different designs/weights for the ferrule-insert
It showed that we could determine the deflection by chosing material and weight for the ferrule-Insert...
Insert weight from 0.74 to 1.40 grams and ferrule lenght from 2 to 12mm (plus 16mm glued in the CF tube)
... make a (scale fom 1 to 10) "very low" (1) to "reglular" (10)" deflecting shaft
I prefere a 31.0in / 14mm / SIB soft / 1.00g / 10mm Ferrule-Insert -> medium-low Deflection (5)
my friend's favourite is a 29.5in / 12.5mm / SIB med / 0,84g / 3mm Ferrule-Insert -> low deflection (3)
(we are still in prototyping mode and do not sell any of our brainbugs)

Considering the cost of material and shipment, as well as the time spent thinking, working and testing...
the cost of 200USD for a well made CF shaft is more than reasonable

Take care, Wolfgang

From what could tell deflec. was pretty low. Low as a Revo? didn't have one handy. The Rhino i hit was 12.7 and seemed to play much the same as the 12.9Revo i tried but its been a while. IMO its a helluva shaft for 160bux.
Doesn't look like they offer a 29" version.
🤷

Here’s a 29” for $152.89
Market is crashing

Just got a email from Rhino with a tracking #. Looking forward to a long-term cf shaft test. A friend has one so i already know pretty much how it plays. Have to say this outfit's CS is top notch. They've answered emails quickly and kept me up to speed on my order. A lot of US custom makers could learn something from them in this regard.

That's how a lot of Asian suppliers are. They have many dedicated staff just for answering customers. I experience this with manufacturing suppliers for my dayjob.

Its not about the staff but the willingness to communicate. I've dealt with a lot of cuemakers over the yrs that are HORRIBLE in this regard. I don't think Rhino is a big outfit, the same person contacted my every time.

Oh, if you are talking specifically about cue makers, and cue maker time, then you are 1000% right:) I meant companies in general.

I don't think that many co's have big dedicated staffs that handle CS. Most likely its a handful at best and 1-2 in most cases. I've contacted a LOT of Asian co's searching for info on here and Rhino is easily in the top5 in terms of responsiveness. Others reply in a week/mo and some not at all. I bet i've tried contacting ADAM in Japan a dozen times without any reply. No excuse for this imo.

Adam is not working for US, eh?
