MOSCONI CUP 2023 AZB Watch Party / Master Thread

The contest has been over since yesterday. Shaw just trying to give the paying crowd something entertaining to watch
 
Game 4

FSR breaks dry, and the 1 hangs in the jaws top-corner. Table looks wide open, the 1 is the tough shot.

Gorst slow-rolls it in and leaves perfect on the 2. Team USA should be able to handle this table. Gorst makes a nice long cut on the 3 down the rail. Gorst makes a small mistake on the 5 to the 6, leaving the 6 with a steep cut. Woodward recovers nicely, and now the 7-8-9 set up easy. They're out.

Score 3-1 USA. Friends in Low Places plays during the break.
 
Game 5

Gorst breaks and makes 2 balls, but unfortunately one of them was the CB in the side off a nasty kiss. The table is wide open.

Shaw and FSR take care of business.

Score 3-2 USA.

Ok let's talk about preposterous what ifs

What if they cut the days short to make it to day 4 and the US catches fire? This is after all a game that isn't over until it's over.

Do they break out the cocaine and play until day break?o_O
 
Game 6

Shaw breaks and the 1 drops in the side. The 3-9 is a wired combo in the bottom corner - all they have to do is make the 2 ball cross-side bank. FSR fires it and makes it. Shaw has the length of the table on the combo, and to no one's surprise drills it.

Score 3-3. Barry Hearn smiles and shakes his head from his seat.
 
Game 7

Woodward breaks and the 9 goes in the bottom corner off a perfect nudge from the CB!!!

Score 4-3 USA
 
Game 8

FSR breaks, dropping the 1 and the 7, and Shaw is perfect on the 2. He gets funny on the shape, leaving the CB close to the 3 with a tricky cut. If FSR makes it, they should be out. He overcuts it badly, leaving the 3 good!

Gorst calls an extension. This should be an automatic out, and it is.

Team USA wins 5-3!

What are the chances the Euros were instructed to lose that last match? Of course we will never know!
