MOSCONI CUP 2023 AZB Watch Party / Master Thread

John Leyman is so American.

Picks up a dead fly on the table and flicks it right on the carpet he's walking on. Gangsta.

Game 4

Alcaide breaks after pumping up the crowd to Sweet Caroline, and makes the 1 in the side while the 2 sets up perfectly. The 3 is blocked to its natural pocket and getting shape will require work off the 2. He overruns shape and has only a sliver of the 3 to shoot at. He elects to kick-bank it into the side, and makes it! He's hooked on the 4, tries another kick-bank on it, and rattles it in the bottom corner jaws.

Wolford jumps over the 9 and makes the 4, nice shot! He's good on the 5 and should be out. He gets a little straight down the rail on the 6, will have to power out for the 7, which he does. Connect the dots now, he's out after working the crowd a little before the straight-in 9.

Score 2-2

The break definitely has been a weak point for USA this cup.

Europe breaks and makes a ball and gets a shot. Usa makes a ball and has no shot or breaks dry

Win or lose, this MC is a great experience for Shane W. Gotta make him a stronger player, playing in front of 2,200 people is priceless

The Chris Reinhold, Billy Thorpe and Justin Bergman investments never paid off.

Who is doing recruiting?

Its called wasted development.

Game 5

Wolford breaks, and the 9 nearly goes in the side while the CB gets kicked all over the place and finally scratches in the top corner.

Alcaide takes BIH on an open table, no big issues. He overruns a bit on the 3, but recovers nicely and accepts a thin cut on the 4 and gets perfect on the 5. He should be out now. Wait, he underruns shape on the 8 and is left with a squirrely backcut on it, very missable. He doesn't miss, but comes up short on the 9 and the CB will track towards the corner - he needs one more good shot, and he MISSES IT!

Wolford steps up to a bog-standard long cut on the 9, and overcuts it!

Alcaide finished the easy straight-in 9.

Score 3-2 Alcaide

Who plays a tough shot with closed bridge? Nobody but an inexperienced player. I don't know how America as big as it is can't put 5 good experienced players.

Closed bridge provides more precision. Shooting a toughie with an open bridge takes a perfect stroke

God knows what you mean by that

Whats the fresh player perspective not all the old man chit chat gossip?

You saying a 20 or 30 something is captivated 100% or more like 30%?

If the players arent chatting this up on social media what is the point?
