A pool player stated to me that this shot can be one railed to the same pocket where the cue ball is placed in the corner pocket … He stated he saw a guy do it like it was nothing …. I told him the shot was impossibe… Please let me know your thoughts ….

As the old saying goes: if a man wants to bet you____, rest assured ,he can _____ and it would be unwise for you to bet he cannot.

That said, I'm the dumbest f*ker I know, so he or his imaginary friend can 2 shots at it for the cashish.

I know those shots can be deceiving and can be banked in at what appear like impossible angles. Having that been said, I would bet against this one. If it was down three inches on a fast table, I wouldn't bet against it.

If you have facebook, you can watch alex pagulayan make this very simliar shot. He posted the video yesterday. I'm going go out on a limb and say whoever you were talking do is following Alex's channel

I think the reality here is that the OB is doubled by the CB. I don't know that but I don't see how it could be made otherwise. If it is indeed doubled by the CB then it's likely it also hits the rail twice. That would make it technically a 2 railer even though it's appears as 1.

And that same person is subject to overstatement!

Pretty massive difference from OP.
Agree. I'm guessing we have some broken telephone between what this random guy saw, what he told SHORTY, and what he posted here.

All that said, if it is indeed a double. Then in theory the posted shot could be made. Although I'd have to think the table would need to be insanely fast

I think Alex's shot is a regular one-railer

There are also illegal tricks to these, you can rub chalk on the OB contact point you get the spin to transfer better. Joe Tucker (I think) might have a video showing the Vernon Eliot impossible bank.

Yours pic has the ball 3 diamonds above the short rail, Pags pic shows the obj ball is a little over 2 diamonds off the short rail, completely different shot.

It's far from 'Impossible.' I've seen Bugs make this in his prime a few times.

I'm Not per say a 'Pool player' But here's a video from 10 years ago of myself playing this shot from 2.5 diamonds and with the CB sitting in the corner pocket.

BTW, I apply low 'Inside' English (7 O'clock) to 'pinch the OB off the cushion.

I didn't make it, but, you can see the OB is taking the correct angle to the p ocket.

Think so...? I've never tried such a shot but the pace it had doesn't seem to line up to the cut angle.

I believe this shot will have a required equipment variable so I'm not sure if I can recreate it at home or not. Definitely going to try though
