In '24 Derby City videos I was stunned by how many top players all did something I can't possibly learn to do.....

And Bob they almost Never show the players ''walk up'' to the shot, their footwork, or their handle hand during execution.
There are many times during a rack of play where this could be easily done ''on camera''.
It gives production much more depth into the moment, +++ it gives the announcers, like JJ good info to talk about.

Cue and shoot never looking at the cb. Some views were very close-up, and their eyes never were on the cb.

They looked at the cue ball before they got down on the shot in all likelihood. How do you know where to plant the bridge? You know where the cue ball is at before planting the bridge, often that is enough.

Most broadcast/streamed videos are not very good at picking out eye patterns. They tend to focus on other things, like where the balls are going.
True, but the OP mentioned seeing this on videos.

I remain skeptical - many players look at the CB first thing when placing the bridge hand and getting down, and it’s rare to see that stage of the process on video. I can’t imagine a high level player never taking at least a quick direct look at the CB and tip in their PSR, and many go back and forth once or twice between CB and OB.

That's how I learned, back and forth several times and looking at the OB last.
