Serious question. Can you have yourself removed from fargorate and just start over with 0 games in the system?
I would certainly hope not!Serious question. Can you have yourself removed from fargorate and just start over with 0 games in the system?
With so few games in the system, every game he plays going forward will have a more dramatic impact on his rating. Not really. I’m saying the games could stay in the system. But it also works backwards sometimes too. In my case I have 450 games in the system. 150 of those are against my buddy. He only has 50 other games in the system. So now he doesn’t play for 2 years and I go up to 600. He’s going up to 550 without playing. Now he gets back into it after those two years and now he’s gotta play tournaments at 550 Fargo., when he’s a 450.
So in that case why can’t he get his rate reset?

If opinions could affect FargoRate, the whole system would be tainted. Not really. I’m saying the games could stay in the system. But it also works backwards sometimes too. I would assume that European players could opt to do this under their data privacy laws, although I'm not sure what data Fargorate captures from its users.I would certainly hope not!
That would pretty much defeat the whole premise of an impartial, honest comparative performance/handicap system...

Just a hunch but I'd guess his "friend" is actually him since he's argued that his Fargo is way off.If your buddy has 150 out of 200 games with you, he should go up/down when you do. Do you think the 150 games you two played together were not representative of each other's play?
Also, how did you two get 150 games together 2 years ago? Was that from Salotto? I didn't know it was around then.
i think you have to ask the FARO.......Serious question. Can you have yourself removed from fargorate and just start over with 0 games in the system?
Wyatt sez “ No change”i think you have to ask the FARO.......
(see thread title....)
Depending on how long they keep their data. I was in the APA about 20 years ago. I checked about 5 years ago and i had data in the system. I checked a few months ago and i don't exist.
Oh shit. Guess you can tell how much I care.i think you have to ask the FARO.......

No. That is a true reference. I’m actually upset that he hasn’t played anything Fargorated because my rate should go up a bit if he does.Just a hunch but I'd guess his "friend" is actually him since he's argued that his Fargo is way off.
If I'm understanding you correctly, you are saying your friend's fargorate at the time he played you affects what your rating is today. That's not true. Ever night when the fargorates are recalculated, (for everyone), the rating itself is not used in the calculation. All that is used is wins/losses. So if he was 1000 when you played, and beat you like a drum, or he was 100 when you played him, and beat you the same amount, both your ratings would still be the same today. Only wins and losses matter.O

But in all reality starting somebody over would have zero effect on the system. The old scores would still be saved as an opponent with whatever Fargorate they had. So if I was a 400 when was reset. All those matches I played would be listed for whoever played me as they played a 400.
The reset would be just starting over with a preliminary rate. The new matches would have no effect on the old matches. And the old matches would still be entered for the other players.
I know one way around it but Mike comes on here so…..
No. I think I just try too hard because I want my rate to go up. I don’t even think it’s got to do with the drinking. I’m in my own head because I don’t understand how I’m so low!Sandbag much?
