Best table...

The 4s sagged because the frame design no longer directly supported dte head/foot rails at the ends.

Not sure if that directly answered ya!
Yes, thanks. Strange they would change it from previous designs? I guess maybe to try to save a few $$?

It really depends on where you are going with this. If you plan on doing leagues and/or tournaments, it might be best to get what they are playing on. I would have preferred to have a gold crown, but 99% of the pool played outside of my home is on Diamonds, that is just the way it is...

That being said, it doesn't make sense to me to own a Diamond Professional vs a Pro-Am. They are both ugly, but the Pro-Am is so ugly it is beautiful, lol. And you don't really have to worry about dings and such. The Professional does not shoot the same as a Pro-Am, at least in my opinion.

I think it's the 4? Could be wrong on that. I just like the bronze colored accents.
Don't sleep the silver ones!

No idea on that .

Diamond strongly discouraged me from ordering a Pro-Am with drop pockets. And by strongly discouraged, I mean refused to sell me one.

So, I converted mine ;)

Every once in a while, if I'm practicing something like straight pool or one pocket, I'll remove the sponges and let the balls use the return.

How many balls does the side and corner pockets hold with the sponge?

Yeah most of mine are either on diamonds or older older Brunswicks. Interesting about the 2 tables shooting different. I just need something 9ft. A 9ft feels like a football field compared to my 8ft. Thanks for the feedback. Any experience with rasson or predator

If you haven't played on a diamond, they play way differently than real pool tables. Don't spend 10k on one without playing on a diamond for a few hours.
100% Tons'o'Hype with Diamond tables. They do play very differently.
They are also ugly. The only thing diamond got right is the flush pockets.
Also agree on them being ugly. However I think their version of "flush pockets" the worst of the main players in the table market.
If you are willing to spend diamond money, I expect you will be happier with a gold crown that had been restored. They will be what you were used to playing on in the nineties.
...or a new table of any other manufacturer. There's a unwarranted premium with buying a diamond that I'll never understand.

They are the only flush pockets I've ever played on, I'd likely agree if I had other experience.

We've had this discussion hundreds of times.

'just need something 9ft' is short sighted and a pool table is not a short term possession.

Rasson / predator are not yet real market players for pool tables in USA. You can buy a Peugeot but why would you do that to yourself...you know?

Having owned 4 tables, the diamond is far and away the best.

So solid and consistent, compared to any other I've played on.

I'd even give the nod to the new version of the Valley BB over the diamond effort.

That soft leather diamond uses is terrible. Shame you don't have other available options in your area. Trust me, the world is a better place... ;)

Which diamond? I'm trying to understand if diamond has a pockets only table and not just a return ball table. Not sure what the right terminlogy is for that.
Drop Pocket.
Sure they do.

Buy used....always good tables available.
Diamond tables in 3 piece slate are tough to come by.

If you played 30 years ago on 9 footers then just get a nice Brunswick Gold Crown. Keep the pockets bigger....you probably won't like how a Diamond with 4.5.inch pockets plays.

Go out to a local room with diamonds or gold crowns...see what you.like

Ok thank ya. So they play the same??

also Cloth preference, pocket size? It looks like if you have decent stairs I'll need a 3 pc slate.
Nobody is bringing Diamond 1 piece slate down stairs...like 900#

Consider a gold crown....get em for 2 k or less. A good table mechanic and.new cloth, it will play awesome.

If you go to Super Billiards Diamond will sell you something be 9000 to 10k installed

Have you seen the price of a new GC? It's more than a Diamond. A new Rasson is right around the same as a Diamond a Predator is more.
