Yep, tight pockets are fine, especially for pros at the highest level. Deep shelves are what start to make it frustrating. That's the nature of Pool table pockets, the opening size is only half the equation.
It’s quite frustrating, since you can’t even see where the cue ball lands (or sometimes, even the route of the cue ball) before they start showing a replay. I don’t remember this happening in the earlier rounds…Replaying every shot.
...and I'm going out on a limb and guessing you don't know how to produce sports for television...?The camera person doesn't know how to play pool.
Almost, but not quite. They definitely are trying to provide the viewer with multiple perspectives of what the players are attempting to do. Although the constant back and forth is mildly tiring. The other option is what exactly...? Watching the players walk to behind the CB for the next shot...?Replaying every shot.
They don't seem to be very consistent with the replay. Last rack didn't have much. It’s quite frustrating, since you can’t even see where the cue ball lands (or sometimes, even the route of the cue ball) before they start showing a replay. I don’t remember this happening in the earlier rounds…
Preaching to the choir my friend.... preachingThat's the nature of Pool table pockets, the opening size is only half the equation.
It does seem better now, much more watchable and a nice variety of angles without overusing replay. Maybe they just needed to work out the kinks! They don't seem to be very consistent with the replay. Last rack didn't have much.
Maybe the fulltime guy was taking a break and they had a jittery intern take over for a bit...lolIt does seem better now, much more watchable and a nice variety of angles without overusing replay. Maybe they just needed to work out the kinks!
Coming from behind is tough with this break format.gotta feel a little bad for dang. but he did have two chances to capitalize on. only the second one came late when he was 9-1 in the hole and probably very cold
tell chua about the tough pockets too
11-3, he missed one open shot, and definitely leads the BNR bonus prize hunt
Johann doesn't seem to have any problems with the tight pockets. 7 break and runs today9-9. This is the first full match I've watched at these championships and can't get over how terrible these tiny pockets are. Both Melling and Gorst missed balls that would/should go in on any pool table. One of them was Gorst's 7ball that would have put him up 10-5. Instead 9-6 and Melling goes on a run and we have a tie game. But that shot should always drop. F these stupid pockets. Tho fair is fair cuz Melling got robbed on exactly the same type of shot earlier.
