2024 World Pool Championship

Surprised to hear so many tight pocket comments. The eye test says these tables are playing much easier than those at the UK Open. Balls well struck are going in.

These conditions are just what a world championship demands. I'd guess they are 4 1/8", but if not, the facing angles are causing them to play with the approximate tightness one would expect to see on 4 1/8" pockets.

Tough equipment yes. Super-tough, no.

I asked no other than JJ, as there was too much misinformation.

So, officially and from the horse's mouth: corners are 4 inches, sides are 4.25

I hope Gorst takes it. Love the Phillipino players, but it would be good spread: poland, albania, usa, phillipines.

AWFUL miss on the 7 from Fedor. He almost undercut the 5 at the same angle and same corner pocket

Simple 2-rail kick on the 5 went down the drain for Gorst, so it is going to be 9-4 very soon

Mutual errors in rack 14 for Raga and Gorst, fighting for the open shot on the 2

Two-rail kicks are a nightmare for Gorst in this match. TV table seems to remain terra incognita for him, given poor safety play in the beginning.

Raga makes perfect shape on the 5 but misses it due to excess of helping English most probably

Coming from behind is tough with this break format.
What?!? First of all we need to lose the whole “format” thing. In 9 ball the winner breaks. Lastly, the point of winner breaks is you can be down 10-0, win a game and get the break, control the table to get back into the match.

In the world of “format” where the proper rules are changed to alternate breaks, and you get behind, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get back into the match if your opponent wins his break games.

10 to 4, seems like Gorst is finally back on track, even though some of his shots are worrying a bit

Gorst near perfect up to 9-2 but showing some weakness in the late stages vs Raga.
