So the garage is now called game on
They have a yearly tournament in November that draws about 100 players, Jason Kirkwood, Jeremy , Seaman, and Brandon Ashcraft In the yearly

Your robust. is basically zero. Until you hit at least 200games i wouldn't try matching-up based on FR.
Ashcraft still play? He came thru Tulsa a couple times in the 90's. good player.
About 24 years ago he came through the 8 ball saloon in Ann Arbor and won the Tuesday 8 ball tournament. He also hustled the guy (who was a very solid bar table player) who ran the tournament afterwards. Ashcraft basically never missed a ball all night. Very confident guy- borderline arrogant actually
I haven’t lived in Michigan since 2003- happy to hear the pool scene is still strong in Jackson. Very solid bar table players. I don’t recall very many 9 footers at the garage or avenue

Yeah they gave me that starter rating at Valley Forge about five years ago
I was probably a 650 player before I quit playing so not much is changed

I think they have two big tables at game on. I didn’t see any at Avenue billiards.
There’s a kid named Jimmy Anderson that plays pretty good. I think Joe Henry is from Jackson chicken george and his son chick George plays well

i too am curious what my fargo would be. 9’ table. The most ive run is a 3 pack on the 9b ghost, best score was 4-7 loss. I beat the 6 ball ghost by a rack. I generally break and run once or twice per hour of 9b practice. my high run in straight pool is 29. i play decent one pocket but would likely get killed by anyone 600+. i often miss balls by a lot. i use too much spin. My mechanics aren’t great. any guesses?

That guy definitely made his rounds. He has embraced the nickname? I always thought it was derisive- that he would only match up with guys that he was a lock to beat.
I lived in Battle Creek for a year and there was a great place there called "The Billiard Cafe" owned by Jayme Goodwin. I've heard that isn't around any more though. Some really tough players would come through there. Goodwin himself was a great player- I think he played on the Camel pro tour back in the 1990s
I agree- playing the ghost is a great way to induce pressure as you can't miss!
525 to 550 range.

My one gripe about the 9 ball ghost is that it is strongly dependent on the break. If you spread the balls out and there aren’t significant distances from one low ball to the next, you have a much better chance of running out- but that’s not necessarily how you break in real 9 ball when you don’t get ball in hand after the break
