Rules for gorst SVB race to 120

Shane has not hidden that he has stake-horses for this match. He could reasonably expect about a 30% gratuity from them if he wins, so that means he is playing for $15,000 plus his cut of the pay per view, or about $20,000. That means Shane has surely got plenty of money on the line in this match, but I would guess he is not at risk for anything, and his cut of the pay-per-view amounts to an appearance fee.

I'm not sure I'd want to back either Fedor or Shane in a long race against Kaci in a race to 100. In the past four years, Kaci has two golds and a bronze at the World 10-ball, so if Shane's motivation is to prove he's the best at 10-ball, he'll have to beat Kaci. Perhaps if he beats Fedor, he goes after Kaci.

To me, Shane has nothing to prove. Win or lose, he is a legend at 10-ball and I'm not sure that by winning, he'd tell us anything we don't already know.

I believe anyone who watches this match will see some great pool delivered between two World 9-ball champions and, as priced, there's plenty of value offered here for those who enjoy marathons.

Good luck to both of these fine players.
Somebody needs to reboot TAR.
There are so many untested matchups.
Get Filler in the mix.

8 players....50k buyin....winner take all. 400k.
Biggest prize in pool.

That, or do a big money ring game with elite players....that would be cool too.

Didn't Earl spank SVB on a 10-footer? I seem to remember Shane saying he couldn't fade Earl's game on the big board.

Often wrong,

Sunny

There was a lot of Kaci slander on Facebook after he offered either SVB or Fedor the first break. I don't get the sense he's the type of guy to run his mouth on Facebook and not have the stones to back it up - I'd love to see him play the winner.

Of particular note were all the folks on Kaci for his slow play - suggesting he'd be screwed if they played with a shot clock. I find that amusing because I think of the top echelon of players, Fedor is easily the most impacted by the shot clock.

he said himself at the WC that long hours was painful for the injured arm/hand. so probably not ready for that

Agreed, he'll have to wait until he's physically right, but Kaci showed us that even with his issues, he can come within a rack of the world championship.

If they don't fix the AC at Railyard, I don't think they are going to want to race to 7. Its been a sauna in there for 6 weeks.

I don't recall even one of these action challenges over the years played with a shot clock. Who can win when they are allowed to take forever to shoot is a slightly different proposition than who will win when players aren't permitted to waste huge amounts of time.

Good point, would Orcullo have dominated so many money games if he wasn't up and down on every shot like yo-yo?

Sometimes the psychology observed in untimed matches is fascinating. But a shot clock presents it's own intricacies that make good watching.

dennis can play real fast in 9b/10b. i agree the up and down is annoying but i've only been annoyed watching him play 1p

TAR #20. 10-Ball on a 10-footer in Youngstown, OH. Earl 100, SVB 83.

[from what I've read]
Earl has calmed considerably over the past years, but his behavior and pure rage at the crowd was perhaps at its worst during this match. The table was exceptionally difficult as well.

If there were $400,000,000 bet on the side, the match would surely be advertised as "$800,000,000 in the middle".
$800,000,000 in the middle, still taking bets up to $2,000,000,000.

If the score gets to 119-119, they back it and jack it to $1.6B in the middle.

I may be inclined to pay $10 for a copy of the full match to watch at my leisure.
Like most PPVs, I don't have time to tune in all day for days at a time.
I'm typically stuck with highlight videos after the fact.
Seriously? $10...?!

That is an insult to all involved in the production
