What does TAR 1 mean?
ustream had the first popular live streaming platform. Way before youtube. Then IBM bought it and it seemed to completely disappear, almost immediately. Here’s a way backer. Remember when the first streams were on Ustream? It was hard to even see the ball color.
The Action Report.TAR was a series of races like this in the way back. Short for the action room.
I may have just aced you outThe Action Report.
The Action Report. Started by a former member here. It was the first time there was ever a race to 100 type format, and it was live streamed to boot. The first one was in 2007. It was Corey vs Shane. It was the first time anyone outside of South Dakota ever heard of Shane, and introduced us to his game. It lasted about 7 or 8 years and had about 100 matches. The later matches were shorter races to 21 or so instead of 100.What does TAR 1 mean?
I loved the TAR matches. I was playing in the US Am. Championships in Tampa area when they had Donnie “Car Lot” Mills against SVB. Pattern Rack, soft break rack your own at The Crooked Cue in St. Pete. I took a night and watched in person. The Action Report. Started by a former member here. TAR 1 was the very first match. They were retroactively numbered TAR 2, TAR 3, etc. TAR 1 introduced us to Shane's 10 ball break that he became famous for. Routinely making 3-5 balls on the break, his pop, the 2 corner balls going 4 rails, etc.
Are you still in the Tampa area?I loved the TAR matches. I was playing in the US Am. Championships in Tampa area when they had Donnie “Car Lot” Mills against SVB. Pattern Rack, soft break rack your own at The Crooked Cue in St. Pete. I took a night and watched in person.
No, I live in Tn. I was only in town because I got lucky and qualified for the Us Amateur Championship. It was luck timing. But, I’m retiring in January and moving to the Leesburg area near my parents to help them out. They are 94 years old.Are you still in the Tampa area?
This didn't age wellI sense a swing. Shane had 2 unforced errors, but he seems super confident and head high still.
Gorst also had 2 unforced errors, but I think it knocked him down a bit mentally.
I predict Shane will win the next "race to 10 segment". Starting from 42-40 shane.
