US Open (9 ball) 2024, August 19-24, Atlantic City

If I want to watch, I'll pay.
I just wanted to see the scores, and that's not available without having to log into MR. It's no longer freely posted on their website, as it was for last year's tourney. You need to log in. What's that about?

Bingo, and that is absolutely not how it is for other sports. I can type in a quick google search and see who is competing against who, the score of a game that just ended or that is in session, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the coverage and what matchroom and the rest are doing, but if we want the sport to grow etc..., you're going to need more information about the events out there. You have to grab interest in your product and then be able to hold it even without securing the bag right away.

I was trying to find out what time the 2nd day of the Fedor/SVB Race to 120 started and I could find absolutely nothing. The host didn't have it on their website, on their facebook, on their twitter. Hell, I just wanted to re-tweet a tweet about the event on X to see if any of my followers wanted to discuss it and I couldn't find anything recent, ZERO!

Again, I appreciate what matchroom/xpool etc... are trying to do, but the coverage around the sport is just not good at all, and again, you're going to need to grab and hold some interest.

Earl laid down the weakest safety ever on the 1 ball versus using a jump cue.

Asis locked him up under the 2 with the easiest safe.

Earl practiced strokes long enough to commit a time foul.

And so goes the former US Open champ.

BTW did anybody see the platform Frankenstein shoes he had on at some point????
Literally 4 inch platform shoes I seen in a FB clip!

Here is the cue he is using.

There was a Facebook post of Earl letting Ko pin yi use the cue.... saying you get one shot...he was barely able to hold it with his tiny hands as he fired in a full table cut shot.

Here is the clip Ko pin yi is laughing about it....

Earl is simply the single most entertaining thing in pool forever...

Somebody find a pic of those shoes.

OMG at the end of the video above Earl shows his shoes and said, "That's why you need these"...to reach.

They shoes are about this high...

can't fault the logic though, the big shoes are needed in order to play with the big cue.

Why should it be free?

You have to pay in some way to watch every other major sport.
I watch PGA golf and its free. I get my tv from a off-the-air antenna. Don't pay for shit. If its on cable i don't watch it. A lot of sports are free to watch. That said i don't blame MR at all here. Obviously having people sign up is a marketing deal but that's ok by me.

Matchroom gets most things right but keeping match brackets/results private to members only is silly.
Don't know of any event or sports where the match results are private :ROFLMAO: They can make the brackets/results publicly available (to non-members) and everything else like players profile can be private so that members still access to more info than non-members. Publicising match data helps promote market matchroom- anyone who wants to look at results has to go to link on wntlivescore.com website
Also not really necessary to setup new separate wntlivescores.com For more focused branding, better to just add the site on subdomain of the mother matchroompool site eg. wntlivescore.matchroompool.com

I can only assume it is because if you have a users email address it is far easier and cheaper to promote events and news. It irked me as well, but it is a pretty smart move.

Let me guess.
Free for the entire world, except America.
Viewers in the US will be required to sign up for DAZN to watch.
It will also not show up on "trending now" unless you give MR your email address.

no, you're gonna have to sign up for netflix.

anyway, not my cup of tea, documentaries about corporations / business
