True no hacks at this point, but I feel Shane has a little something more to prove. Of course we know he doesn't, but that's Shane being Shane. His big win over Fedor and Jayson and filler has been a thorns in his side in the past. The competitive jean popping out and a chance for another US OPEN title...Shane is on a mission.

Shaw always looks so overconfident and inhuman at the table, it's kind of nice to see a chink in that armor. What a natural talent he is though...reminds me a lot of Earl, they make everything look so easy.

fatboy's "svb and gorst vs the field" doesn't seem like a bad bet now.

i haven't seen big ko play much this tourney, but going by results in his last two matches it seems he's in the zone too. could be a very strong semifinal lineup
 
Any observed needle or tension between Shaw and SVB? There was definitely some of that, mainly from Shaw, in their World Pool Masters match this year. Today's loss to SVB surely stings for Shaw; hopefully, he was gracious in defeat.

Johann has been playing like ass and couldn't break in this format to save his life. Filler also hasn't been playing his game.

Yes, but if you've played with a template enough, you'll know that it doesn't always rack right, especially once it gets worn and there was definitely a slug rack on Jayson on one of his breaks...

He seemed fine when they were chatting, there was some frustration shown by Shaw, but not directed at Shane.
