International Open 9-Ball 2024, St. Augustine, FL, Nov. 18-22

Only for the later part of the tournaments. I'm also going to the Mosconi Cup and the whole thing would have been too long.
I understand. I am not going to make it to Mosconi Cup with the scheduling of them so close together.

I'll watch for you later in the event in Florida.

This field is absolutely stacked. A Cinderella story here is super unlikely.

Good luck to all these fine players.

bit surprised by the lack of asians. especially since some of them are playing in puerto rico. intl open is like 50k first prize?

Looks like a ton of firewood on that list, I don't see anything stacked about that list. Maybe I'm missing something.

Thank god for Pat! One TD has come to his senses after some moronic “rules” at other events.

“After the game ball is pocketed, it is not a forfeit to touch any ball if it is obvious that it would have no impact on that rack.”

I'd like to see players have their way with conceded match tables be it game ball or the last anything. It's like leaving out the last bar in a song.

I got to the hotel about 11pm and checked in. I had a 6 hour drive with a stop to eat from Atlanta.. The place is really nice, and the rooms are clean. I then went to the tournament room. There are 32 9' tables, plus 1 TV table. The tables are playing great (and you boys know how I feel about the Diamond cushion....). The bounce is just right. Cloth is virgin. Balls are virgin Aramith Tournament sets. Lights are super nice Diamond 2x2 panels, 3 panels long, with parabolic diffusers. No side glare, and they light the table jam up. I played about 3 hours. Almost all the 32 tables were going until about 1am.

I came with exactly $11 cash. I saw the Diamond coin machine, so got out $10 worth of coins, then went to the table, and saw it was completely open, ha ha. So I had $1 left.

I talked with some of the boys, and heard there is another room with 7' tables, and another room called the action room. I didn't find them though (or look that hard).

I saw the Sandman and said hello, also 40 from Philly, and met a couple new people. I brought 6 of my Taom square printed chalk holders with me, and sold them in 5 minutes, for $5 each. So now I have $31 in my pocket. ha ha.

The rounds will alternate between 650 cap and pro event. 650 got 190 players, pro got 128.

I took some pictures I'll upload them later.

The venue looks first class. I think this could become the DCC of the south, in warm Florida:)
