Taom Chalk

I bought the v10 green and liked it. I need a second one for another location, and am thinking of trying a blue. I'm colorblind and the green was close to the tip color for me, and I had a hard time knowing if the tip was fully coated. Is the Pyro or the 2.0 Blue the one to get if I liked the v10 green? Links below. Thanks!

2.0 Is white.
Pyro is Blue but threre is other colors available too.
Pyro is good but V10 is just better.

I've been a Taom Pyro user for one year now, after years of Predator, after years of Master, after years of NOS NTC chalk from the seventies. Really satisfied with this expensive piece of kit. But the speed it wears off makes ik a real good buy.
Last month I purchased Pagulayan a set of green and blue and played with the green for the last 3 weeks. If this green equals the Taom V10, then I'm a newly conformed user. I have very good experiences with it.
Shout out to Team Paguylayan after receiving the package in Belgium (with additional VAT and customs). Even paying these extra dues they made me a happy customer.
Excellent Customer Service.
Go Alex. Go Pagulayan.

Pretty sure it's just Taom, no special or secret formula. Just square. It's like Ding Jun Hui branded chalk. Which is the same color as Taom 2.0 (kinda blue-ish white)

I just changed from pyro back to v10 today. for some reason it not being blue bothered me but I was noting the tip skidding a bit when applying spin with the pyro. not quite a mis cue but definitely not what I wanted. At first I was blaming the Tim not being properly shaped but it’s not that. After a week with the v10 I’ve had no issues so I’ll stick with that.

My favorite chalk is still kamui but it’s so damn mess. 😣

i have been using taom v10 for 6 or more months
it does seem to keep the table cleaner
as mentioned above @trob i do find i need to rough up the tip from time to time as the chalk seems to build up a layer on the tip that is slick
and it feels like the cue ball slides (with @trob it was with the pyro)
but what i find especially curious
when i use a revo wipe
i still get residue on the wipe
perhaps not as dark as when i used masters but the residue has to be on the table too i would assume?????

I'm not colorblind but also struggle in some lighting conditions, to tell if my tip is coated well with V10.
I'm a convert. The 2 pieces I have are still going strong after 13 months and only one piece is getting short.

That doesn’t look like chalk. Revo shafts will leave black marks . I‘ve had black marks on my rail from it .

Of course there is some fine dust that Taom leaves. Like any chalk.
The thing is when you think how much residue you get, think how little chalk has been worn. No wear - no residue.
So clean chalk = chalk that last a loooong time.

That’s very interesting. I’ve had these shafts now for quite a while. I don’t seem to get black marks on my rails or hands or gloves.

Is that coming off the shaft? If it was chalk shouldn't it be the color of the chalk? I think it's oil/dirt build up from your hands.

At the local, with all the use the tables get there, they are filthy, laden with chalk residue. I think a lot of what people see on their cue stick is from this, chalk on the table getting on the hands and then transferred to the cue stick. I am sure none of this residue chalk is Taom.

I bought a cube of Taom chalk. No big deal. I just bought several flavors of Kamui chalk, amazing how much extra I can back up the cue ball or put some English on a shot. It’s a totally different and pleasing experience.

A lot of the regular blue master chalk will appear black when you pick it up off the table. I'm not sure if it's from mixing with skin oils, oxidizing or what, but it will definitely turn your hands black. If I had a pool room, I'd buy the sky blue, it's no less messy but less noticeable.

agree with you, hate the black residue, my local leaves two blocks of Master on the table (Aileex 9footers with CPBA tournament blue 760 cloth). Hate the black residue on my hands. But the hall has two sinks by the exit for washing hands.

The Diamond tables have grey CPBA cloth and no chalk provided. They are cleaned more often than the others also (a combination of there being less of them, and them being slightly more expensive to play on. So get the premium treatment)
