Johan Ruysink has revealed that he had an agreement with Team USA to train them for the Mosconi Cup.
Matchroom turned it down and said Johan wasn't needed. They blocked Johan from visiting the practice room at the Mosconi.
I suspect Matchroom will be begging Johan to come back next year, the Mosconi Cup will be dead if this one-sided beatdown carries on for a few more years.

I listened to the podcast last night. There were so many wisdom nuggets shared in this one. I enjoyed it 100 percent.
Matchroom Pool has made decisions that are incomphrehensible in recent times. I'm not going to trash them because I did enjoy some of the events, especially in 2023, e.g., Spain and Poland. And both Hanoi events were off the charts. I feel like I've traveled the world on the backs of our pool pros, and I appreciate Matchroom Pool allowing me to hitchike on their train like a hobo. I finally refused to take a ride on the DAZN, as have so many others.
The offer of DAZN to Americans for watching their exhibitions and tournaments is a slap in the face. They knew what DAZN was doing to its consumers, patrons, pool fans, and yet remained radio silent about it, even when it was brought to their attention tens of thousands of times. It was only when DAZN made front-page news about their predatory methods that Matchroom Pool did something about it. WNT.tv was born, and that's great news, I think, to pool fans everywhere. Worthy of note, however, is the wonderful experience I had on Matchroom.live for snooker and pool. WNT.tv is going to replace it, and I hope it's just as good, if not better.
Their cryptic one-line announcements, ones that leave pool fans not understanding why, however, is disconcerting. I'll leave that one alone because we all know who and what I'm talking about.
Coach Johan's take on professional pool, especially as it pertains to USA, is right on the money. The big elephant in the room, however, is why the BCA organization continues to feed its industry members and has discarded professional pool like trash. It speaks volumes. Hall of Fame banquets are great, but this is the Northern American governing body of cue sports. What's up with that?
Pool in USA is alive and well for social shooters, recreational players, and leagues, but the lot of professional-caliber pool players continues to dwindle and is literally circling the drain. There are less than 10 pro-caliber players in USA, in my opinion. How many pro-caliber players are in Europe? We all know the answer here. Now, there are some remarkable juniors in USA, and this is, most definitely, an area that needs more growth, as Coach Johan wisely noted. Hello, BCA! Remember us?
