Harold Worst 7 Rail Draw Shot - Fact or Fiction? Can anyone replicate this shot today?

I don't think I've ever seen a player hit the same cushion with draw more than twice. Maybe with masse? In any case,

This is what I think of as a legitimate 7-cushion draw shot, and I would certainly bet against on any normal table. (This is from Virtual Pool, where you can dial the speed up to 11.)

this would be the shot with running english, technically possible I guess, we would need a big stroke pro like Shaw or SVB or Deluna to test this

I was recently reading Freddy the Beards Book - Banking with the beard - and he recalls a specific story where he witnessed Harold Worst play a 7 rail draw shot at a tournament during an exhibition (I am currently visiting family and dont have a copy of the book with me but I will post a picture as verification when I return).

I skimmed through some older threads where this was discussed and the consensus seemed that Beard never said this / this shot never happened. However, this is printed in his book, he undoubtedly at least wrote it.

So back to the question - is this shot possible? Is there anyone that can set this up and demonstrate? If Worst could do this back then on those table conditions - certainly a pro should be able to do this today (Imagine this mans stoke today.......). This shot seems ridiculous but would the beard really say this and it didnt actually happen?
I have seen 6 rail shot, cue ball hits rail first the ball is pocketed in corner, cue ball travels to opposite long rail, short rail opposite long rail to corner getting the last 2 rails. A 16-year-old kid that shot pretty good in a pool room in San Diego made this shot several times, which I practiced a few times and only got the 5th and 6 the rail once.

I think this is the only (somewhat realistic) path that would be possible.

I'm sure it was on a 5x10 billiard table, the cloth was the flimsiest I ever saw being used, the ball was frozen in the corner, he hit the ball dead in the face and it came out of the corner like a rocket, a...
I misunderstood your original post of the drawing. I did not understand that it was on a carom table.

What you showed is not a draw shot -- it is a kiss-back. It is a standard Artistic Billiard (carom) shot. Here is the exact diagram from the competition as of 1987, when this was printed. The shot is best played with only moderate draw to keep more speed on the cue ball. I have made the shot many times, as I used to practice the shots in the competition. You get 7 rails if the cue ball comes in a little long.

(The numbers around the rails are from the grid system used in the competition to get exact placement of the balls.)

That's the shot Bob, with the 2 extra rails out of the corner going in long. Thank You. if you put draw on the cueball. I don't understand how it is not a draw shot, but you are the 3c guy, not me, and yes , I showed the ball going long and getting the extra 2 rails, to make it a 7 rail shot to make the billiard. Everything gets so muddied up when the threads get hijacked, but then, I am probably the worst offender. So I guess I need to tell myself to do better. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain your thoughts.

Nothing about that shot is a draw shot.

People counting "rail first" as a rail are delusional as well.

This thread is as bad as the full splice thread 🤦‍♂️

Its true, the draw requirement really only leaves <90° of departure angle from pocketed ball.

Therefore, we are left with approaching the corner at an angle that doesn't support+5 rails.
If you crank it up and go into the corner and put to the same side long rail and down table, you can get 5, maybe 6, like I said initially. At the end of the day, these are extremely diff shots. If you can draw 3 or 4 rails off any shot, pay yourself on the back bcuz it's all stroke.

I don't follow how one can pocket a ball in a side pocket and go into the long rail corner on the same side (as the pocket the ball was pocketed) on a draw shot. I think you describe a glancing contact?

And in my experience, drawing into the opposite long rail doesn't provide angle to see the traditional 3 railer go long...plus it is so far from the start point to the initial corner, major spin/ speed losses are seen .

dont know if this has been posted in the thread but here is a nice article on harold worst
