Admin Abuse Of Power

I’m so pissed right now. I’m going to rant a little. I’m selling off my entire collection of pool related memorabilia.

I’ve been listing quite a lot of stuff for sale while trying to adhere to the rules of the wanted/for sale section. I’m not trying to flood the first page with a ton of threads or trying to over bump my posts. I understand completely that we’re all trying to sell stuff.

The admin of the wanted for sale section (Cleiton) messages me and sends me a link to the rules. Great. Thank you. For at least a week now he has been deleting my posts and I don’t know why.

Rules state you can only have four active posts on the first page. No problem. If you look on the first page of the for sale section, I only have one. Want to know why? Mr. Cleiton keeps deleting my posts. Earlier, I had one one the first page. Then I made another one for some Brunswick cue glide cans. That’s two. Then I made a third for an Efren are yes poster. That’s three. Two were deleted.

I told him I was trying to adhere to the rules while using Tapatalk and it’s all one big continuous page. But then if you look at the online browser, it is 20 posts per page. Again, no problem. He then makes some shit up about only having four posts for the first 40 threads. WTF? That’s not what the rules say. Rules say four posts per the first page and I am complying with that!

I had one on the first page, I made a second, then I made a third. While we were talking about all this back and forth he went and deleted two of my posts so now I only have one on the first page. Fuck dude. Give me a break.

What pisses me off the most is that he allows other “special” people to bump four of their separate posts selling cues or whatever at a time and doesn’t delete those. But I have more than one on the first page and they get deleted.

So, is this what the forum has come to? An admin in a position of “power” to allow some but not all? Some people have to follow the rules and some don’t? I’m literally following the forum rules and I’m still getting my stuff deleted.

There’s two different people that each have three posts on the first page right now and those aren’t being deleted. And that’s fine because the rules say you can have four on the first page. So WHY THE F do my posts keep getting deleted.

Sorry for the rant. The abuse of power is just disgusting sometimes. And since he doesn’t want to respond via pm after being called out about being wrong and then deleting another one of my for sale posts out of spite, I’ll post it here. Can’t wait for this to be deleted too.

Your best bet is to PM @ azhousepro and ask him. There may be additional perks for supporting members in the classified section. Some websites operate that way. It would be worth it if you are a volume seller. Just a thought.

Sorry to read this and hope things get sorted out equally.

As bad mods go one glaring mistake
comes to mind. Talk about being biased. Thankful that ended.
In a way I miss the days before mods but ol FL was a handful!

What makes you think you can have the Duck? You may have the chicken!

Didn't have to name him we all knew who you were going to be mad at.🙂

Just do like others and post it on the main page asking if I seems like a fair price.

Or ask does anyone have one like this?

to me the worst part of the OP’s story is that he reached out to the mod and receive no response. Communication is king and can avoid a lot of misunderstandings and hard feelings. IMO you deserve an explanation if you’re doing something wrong clarify what it is.

Regarding over bumping, I’m pretty sure there is a program in place here that if you try to bump your for sale thread prior to 48 hours, it will show a message that you have to wait X amount of hours longer before you can bump again I think there is an exception if someone posts in your thread, asking a question it allows you to respond to those

Recently, someone posted a nice cue for sale and in the specs they indicated that it had a “Bull hide” wrap and I know it wasn’t accurate. It was a pig skin wrap, and I posted a response, simply saying that to me it did not look like a Bull hide wrap, but instead looked like a “very nice pig skin wrap”, and l was genuinely trying to be helpful. My post was deleted without any message to me about it, and I thought that could have been handled better.

Yep, Communication is king.

There are many pool related groups on Facebook. Sell your items there. Problem solved.

Not a fan of public complaining. You could have reached out to Mike for resolution vs. making your (personal) issue public.

Good luck.
agree. Hangin your laundry for us to wash won't do a thing. I get it its nice to vent but you really need to go to AZB HQ aka Mike.

Mike has always been a great help over the years with different things. I absolutely agree. With you guys. This time is different. For those of you telling me to go to Mike about this. I have. Several times. He’s done nothing to help resolve it. In fact, last night he did nothing but defend Cleiton and tell me he’s not doing anything wrong when Cleiton is blatantly screwing me over and deleting my posts when I’m following the rules but allowing other people to do what he’s deleting mine for whatever reason.

I don’t like to air things out in public like this either, but I felt I’ve exhausted all possible options in getting something figured out here. What’s wrong is wrong. What’s right is right. It is what is is.

Making your situation public isn't going to change anything. It will more than likely make the stakeholders dig their heels in even more. If you are being told by two people (including the owner) you are violating the rules, maybe, just maybe, you are. If you aren't, it doesn't matter. It's Mike's sandbox and he can determine what he wants to determine; fair or otherwise. As I said, if you're unhappy with the resolution or lack thereof, sell your items elsewhere. Simple. AZB isn't the end all, be all. I'd wager there are more eyes on the Facebook pool groups than AZB which means your items will sell quicker and possibly at higher prices.

I hear you and I agree with posting elsewhere. However, I’m not breaking the rules. Cleiton sent me a link to the rules which I already knew. I then proceeded to comply with the rules like I have been. He still deleted my post. Then I called him out on it to figure out what was going on. He then deleted another one out of spite while allowing other members to continue to have more than one (up to four) on the first page with no deleting.

It’s just bullshit. But your right. This thread will change nothing.

I wouldn’t necessarily agree that making his situation public isn’t going to change anything. It gave him an opportunity to let the much better populated main form know specifically some memorabilia items he’s looking to sell.

Sly fox.

As Rexus said FAR more billiard related stuff changes hands on Ebay/FB than on here. Also, some of the buyers on those sites are not as savvy as the wily masters here so you can often get better prices. Another option is consignment if you have a good poolroom nearby.
