USPS....

USPS has been terrible lately.

I'm on my 3rd package as of late that was sent priority mail that once it leaves the post office goes MIA. No scans, no locations, just continuously says in transit and late arrival.

My last package took 2 weeks, zero updates, then one morning pops up as out for delivery....

I'll say it
They SUCK lately!

Union workers who are like ShotGun with Broken Trigger.
Can not be fire!

Some USPS worker do their job, are good
employees, but can flush turds.

Shipped the Aiminators with them 3 day ground and I guess I have been the exception. All were tracked and arrived on time.

I don't sell cues just items in smaller packages and Jan has been one of the worst months ever for delays. Had a package that went to the Indy hub 4 different times in a lil over a week then finally got delivered after 2 weeks. I just ordered USPS Priority boxes/mailers from 4 hours away and they bounced around St Louis from 1-23 - 2-6.

Q4 is the only time I ever had delays and they used to be minimal, the only legit excuse for delays after Q4 is they hire temp workers specifically for Q4 then lay them off but that's still a stretch to have packages bounce around St Louis or Indy both for over a week!

I don't remember the last time they lost a package but when an item bounces around a hub for a week or more items are gonna get broken then lost or just lost.

Yes. I've had two "priority mail" packages take over two weeks this month. They were both tracking along great, then no action at all for 10 days, then they show up on my doorstep with no notice. You might as well ship by boat for all the action you get with priority.

I just got a returned Xmas card last week. So OP what did you do to help the other end? I know where I live, it took 3 weeks to get a check deposited in Canon City CO, and they are only 7 miles upstream. But all the mail goes to Denver then back. Now that you know these issues are in play, just let your customers now about the dilemma. Not all homes/towns/delivery and pickup routes are totally efficient.

I have a package "moving through the system" now that was shipped from Vegas to PA.
2 days ago it was in NJ (8miles away) moving through to Distribution Center in Bethlehem, PA (16miles away)....it did a "drive by"...:sneaky:
Yesterday it moved from Bethlehem to Macungie (34miles away) and today it shows it went to Philly Distribution Center (85miles away!!).

I'm guessing it had to "slingshot" south to get enough momentum to make it back north to my post office.... 🤔

One thing you can try is to mail packages from a different post office. My only expensive USPS problem was when I mailed from a small office that didn't even do scanning in. (I think they have added scanning since.) My suspicion was that the label got torn off before it got to the larger depot.

Related to the labels getting torn off, I now put the address info inside the package as well, when I remember to.

St. Louis and some surrounding communities are experiencing the black hole of USPS service.

Curious if you guys live in the south. I know Virginia has a lot of mail problems.

No issues up here in Massachusetts.

All you can do is wait as your along for the ride.

If you have a buyer waiting, just let them know the standard protocols for USPS which is waiting 15 day, filing for a missing package and possibly filing for a claim.

That's fine but the exact same thing happened in Indy around the same time frame, 3 - 4 bounces at the same hub over a 6 - 9 day time period. One site I sell on most packages are Ground Advantage and on another they are all Priority and both have the same delays. For me personally there's no real difference between Ground or Priority other than ridiculous regional price gouging.

Bob said switching post offices may help if they don't scan items when they get them but I sell on sites that items have to be scanned in 1 - 3 businees days but it doesn't matter if the initial branch scans it in when they get it or that night before it goes out or when it hits the next hub it gets scanned. But it could be a specific branch to hub issue so trying another branch may/may not help. Now it seems that the Super Bowl can be blamed for any issue people are having as well!!!

I had 1 UPS delivery this year and it also took 2 weeks and I am done dealing with Amazon Prime, half the items I get delivered are damaged or DOA then I have to drive to return it. Never had any issues on Prime until 2023 and they are just getting worse, had an empty package last year that should've weighed 2 - 3 lbs and was OPEN on one end. Broken 4oz liquid bottle delivered yesterday!

I was in my local USPS office in Belgrade, MT this December to check on a lost package. A lot of folks were coming in looking to buy Christmas stamps. The dude working the counter told them "We ordered them over a month ago. They shipped but they've been stuck at the Billings office for 10 days. They should have sent them UPS and they'd be here."

I have reported in the past my dissatisfaction with USPS.

I can only say I do not do business with them unless it is sending a payment!

God bless USPS. I sent out a written check for 2 houses and 3 vehicles to an insurance company in Early July. This was in the provided envelope with proper window, proper stamping, and return address. Early September came back listed undeliverable. ??. My insurance was 5 days past due. I scrambled and paid semi emergency thru bank account. You can say this was my fault for sending thru mail. I used to send 600 invoices a month through this system without fault for close to 50 years. It was a trusted entity. Just last week I had a 3 week hold on my mail while in Florida. I came back to lost mail. Took me all week to track down my simple hold mail, which I have done many times in past. 6 days straight to local post office to check on mail. Mutiple calls. Meeting with local postmaster. Conference with people in California, 3000 miles away. Mail was at a distribution center 1 mile from me, which I wasn't allowed to go to. Had a phone # to center. Wife and I called 50 times, phone was never answered, message box was full. Finally an angel mail clerk took pity or got sick of dealing with us and personally drove to the center and brought our mail back. Either way I an indebted to this lady. This entity we used to trust has gone to hell. If I had a choice, I'd rejoice in firing them. Now I'm going to go totally on line and deal with the freaking hackers than trusting the inept USPS. Excuse me for venting. Nothing about pool here.
Hey Massachusetts. I'm Southern Maine. Close to you. Your just lucky. Anything important goes out registered.
