This is kinda my take.

I love the Mosconi Cup, it's a fun four days of very professionally produced pool with some fun rivalry and it's entertaining to watch. I usually take time off work each year just to watch it.

But it's not what I'd consider "real" tournament pool. SVB is an amazing player...he just doesn't excel in the aberration that is the Mosconi Cup format. And there is nothing wrong with that...it's a weird format that happens once a year.

That is why we need talent and personality. The Hatch man is perfect for the cup. It is fun and that needs to be exploited. Shane is not the person

A once a year exhibition. Who really gives a shit? Races to 5 in a zoo'sphere makes for good tv but its not real pool. Ryder Cup is same thing, there are lot of players that have thrived in the RC but haven't done shit on tour. Does that make them great players? No. This old argument is beyond lame but someone keeps digging it up.

And that would do what for the US/N.American team? Is there ONE player in Mex/Can that can beat SVB? He's gonna be on the team until he decides not to be on the team.

Does it matter? I think they got some feral guys down south can do a number at the cup.
