There is a skull and crossbones Viking cue on Ebay right now. I always liked that one too, I would grab one at a bargain price. Of course, it's nothing next to the Schön.All I know is I want the one with a rose on it and a skull cue from Schon.

Yea those Schon skull cues were great. If I had the ends to do it, I would try to get all of them. There is a skull and crossbones Viking cue on Ebay right now. I always liked that one too, I would grab one at a bargain price. Of course, it's nothing next to the Schön.
I feel much the same way. The A's are definitely very collectible, but it seems McD wasn't quite what they could be yet. C and D is where it's at for McD. Though, let's not neglect the B series, which were definitely better than the A, maybe approaching the quality of C and D.That’s the only McD I have ever had after the D series. IMO McD’s were pretty much toast after the D series. C & D were the best 2 series I thought A’s weren’t as good
That's a later cue. I don't know the model.Any vintage of these? I may be mistaking McD rose cue with Meucci rose cue.

Yes I agree 100% the B’s were very good. Possibly good as C’s and D’s. The A’s are collectible now for sureI feel much the same way. I need friends like you got! LOL!Mike Massey gave it to me as a gift about 12 years ago. McD made it special for him, it’s super long. I’ll get pics and specs and put it here. Need a bit of time.
I’m not keen on those long bumpers they started using (I think right after the D series)
I was amazed Mike gave me that cue. I’ll have it forever, sorry I don’t have a pic right now. When I’m able I’ll get pics and post them here.I need friends like you got! LOL!
I actually think the old McD bumpers had something to do with how the cue hit. Seriously I think that. Of course, I could be wrong.
I have more A, B, and C series cues but I can't find the pics. Somehow I got disorganized when I changed PCs a few years ago. I am replacing this one by October, building another. I will have to be more organized with my cue files.I was amazed Mike gave me that cue. I’ll have it forever, sorry I don’t have a pic right now. When I’m able I’ll get pics and post them here.
I love how McD’s play. They are a top 10% of all cues I’ve played with good. D series not anything after.
Which?still available?
I have a D19 just like that, its my daily player. When I had McD refinish it I had them rewrap it with white and green speckled linen. In fact I was just at McD this very morning ordering a new shaft for it.View attachment 810765
This is 4/5 McD’s I own. The 19 & 23 are normal D series. I’d like a couple more D series someday. And a C series as well, I have owned loads of C & D series over the years.
The 26 has points instead of the bow ties(my bow tie was stolen) , the far left cue is an old forearm on a (after D series) butt. They were both given to me. One-off McD’s are kinda cool.
Beauty.Got my favorite shooter back from refurbishment and it looks like new from when I first bought it from them in 1985. It is a C-14 from the 1980-1984 catalog.
The darker shaft is the original and I had them cut it down from a 14mm to a 13mm and I got a new 13mm shaft made too. Can't wait to try it out.
One thing I have noticed is the old McD’s seem to play better now than 40 years ago.
Don't we all wish for that? LOL!One thing I have noticed is the old McD’s seem to play better now than 40 years ago.
I think I’m past a come back.Maybe it's not the cue.
Maybe it's time for a comeback.
