I mean technically Fargo is your relative win rate against other players of a known rating, so playing the ghost maybe give you an estimate but to really know you have to play competitively

Good shooting all. First post updated.
You get it from tournaments that use the system, and can also do challenge matches that report to it using a phone app called Salatto.
It's a logarithmic scale. Every 100 point difference means a 66:33 ratio of winning a single game, which roughly works out to doubling the lesser player's score in a longer set.
The chart on the first page of this thread we have FargoRate recorded for members that provided it. But keep in mind, the chart only has their best score of the year, not an average ghost score.
The very last chart on the first page has a running total of a few members of what their entire ghost history is for the year. That's a better average to see where you might fit in using the ghost as the only tool.
It’s highly dependent on conditions. 7’ vs 9’, new cloth vs old cloth, big pockets vs tight pockets, clean balls vs dirty balls, magic rack vs wood rack etc. Any combo of these will greatly vary the ghost Fargo. I think on a 7’ table with new cloth, clean balls big pockets and magic rack the ghost is under 600. Big table, old cloth, tight pockets, dirty balls, wooden rack it’s probably like 750. Average 9’ conditions on normal pockets I’d estimate it at 675. This is subjective of course. I’m a hair under break even on fairly tough conditions at 680 (9’ diamond with 4.5” pockets, worn cloth, wooden rack, but clean balls)
I haven’t recorded a set in quite a while. I woke up today and decided to, and managed to catch a halfway decent effort. I’ve been losing a lot of sets lately, so it feels good to win one. I’ll include this result in my monthly tally.

i recently double dog dared my good buddy and fellow azb member @Birk1 to start filming ghost sets. to reciprocate and show him that its no big deal i took on a race to 3. I Fully expected it to go 0-3, but Instead it hilariously went hill-hill.
Forgive my commentary, as i was speaking directly to Birk1.
so now that i’ve put my shitty play out into public, i am once again double dog daring @Birk1 to get the ghost…..
…..except this time i need you all to help me publicly shame*cough* i mean motivate him to get this done.
put me down for 2-7. no fargo. easy table

Any of you guys find it boring playing others. I rather just play the ghost because I don't have the patience to sit and wait for my opponent.

i play a version of the ghost where the ghost cannot kick or jump. If you get the hook you get ball in hand and keep shooting.Playinv the ghost, you can not play defensive. That is like missing half the game
sure it doesnt “count” but its good motivation to practice safe
So basically just "safety so there is no direct contact CB-OB" on the ghost turn and you keep shooting ? Sounds like a good ghost game that allows "defensive strategy" to develope
if the ghost cant see it you get ball in hand. If you leave an edge you lose the game.
Haven’t really played much for the last couple months but I did play a couple tournaments. It just seems like I haven’t really played up to my abilities for quite a while now. I played really bad in one of the tournaments. I’ve just never been a real good tournament player.
After my poor performance in the tournament I did start back playing some ghost sets. Here are my scores for the month of July.

I started the month off really bad, but I had a couple of good sets and my scores were a lot closer overall the past week or so.

Here’s a fun way for the stronger players in here to play the ghost. It’s too tough for me, but it might be more interesting for you guys who stomp the ghost on a regular basis.
Break the first rack and play like normal. The second rack, you flip a coin for a CHANCE to win that game. If you win the toss, you break and play that rack like normal. But If you lose the toss, the ghost wins that game and you continue the next rack like normal. So you flip the coin every other game the whole set. Every flip you lose, the ghost wins a game.
I can’t remember where I saw this. I thought it was a cool idea when I saw it but it’s too hard for me, so I kind of forgot about it. Anyway, I recorded a set as a demo and actually did a lot better than I expected. Still lost, but I put up a little fight.
Edit: I just pulled the balls out of the polisher right before this set. A couple of balls fell that absolutely wouldn’t have gone in normally. I’ll take it though!
