2025 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

Ok here’s my assessment about ghost Fargo rate after thinking a bit. I’m now an established 679, so let’s assume that rating is correct. My ghost sample is large enough to say I’m certainly a slight underdog considering the conditions I play (fairly tight table, old cloth, wooden rack, random ball sets). I feel like on a table with new cloth, new balls, magic rack, I would be a favorite. So obviously conditions matter and you can’t put a blanket single Fargo on the ghost. My best guess is, the average ghost Fargo is about 650. Bar table, we’re looking at sub 600. Super tight table like 4” or smaller with worn cloth, you’re probably looking at 720+.

I just Installed 2x new Dynamic 3 tables to our club. Here is cool rack from my set vs 9-ball God.
That put me on 3-1 lead.. i did stop at 4-3 lead because this was morning 8 after night shift.. so i got too tired to finish it.

[EDITED] I gave the ghost a try tonight, ended up winning 7-2. Kept going and final total was 14-2. Second set was 7-0.

In the first set, I missed one easy ball and I had one rack had a cluster I couldn't deal with. Had a couple shortcut racks as well. But overall, I feel good missing 2 balls in 16 racks in just under an hour. I'll post a separate video of the 7-0 run as well.

Don't forget to change the playback speed to 2X or faster! doh!

VIDEO of the both sets:

Second set starts ~29:00

June sets: 65-117 😬

I barely touched my cues in May, so no sets for that month. I thought I’d try and get back to playing more last month.

I just started playing pool again I was away from the game for 13 years the whole Fargo system is new to me how would you get your Fargo number if you don’t have one can you estimate it playing the ghost where should you start your fargo and how many games played to get. Base thank for any help

General rules I’ve seen are like 800+ world class player, 700+ pro or top amateur, 600+ strong regional player 500+ good league player 400+ average league player 300+ novice player and below that is like non-serious beginners. It’s interesting we are trying to do our own experiment to try to estimate ghost Fargo. From what I can tell, if you are a favorite or a break-even player against the ghost on any sort of 9’ table, you’re no lower than 650
