Feedback on My Stroke & Mechanics – Looking to Improve Fundamentals

Very brave first post, welcome, The main thing is, you want to improve. you noticed, some of the flaws in your game, but if i was you. Make the same thread over on the Ask The Instructor category.
They can put you on the right path. Nice run though👍
Ok thanks. I will work on my game a bit and will post again there when I've fixed a few things highlighted here.

If you watch your movement towards the cue ball on your forward stroke on this shot:

you can see that you facilitate your move forward by increasing the bend in your elbow. Some instructors, e.g. Mark Wilson, teach that you should lock your bridge arm straight. You might want to try that to see if it will stop you from swaying forward..

He really needs to go watch video of top players. Watch their PSR as well as their delivery. IMO its WAY easier to watch-mimic than to go by what someone says on a forum. His stroke isn't too bad, he just need to see/grasp how good players do it. Watch some of Niels' stuff, he really is someone to copy.
Ck out Mark Wilson as well, he got good position for the next shot, small sample size, results speak for themselves.

New here. Haven't read 3 pages, maybe yet. 🤷‍♂️
I have a caution I received before my first paid lesson. Well bar box dollar games were paid lessons too. 🤷‍♂️
If you select a Master......don't share. What he teaches4 might take a while to uh completely implement.
Derision from the peanut gallery can be counter pro duckt I've.
There are many paths.
Take the High path. Of Course. 😉 🤷‍♂️
Enjoy the competition.

5". I wonder why since I now know 4.5" is more standard. Had I known when I bought it I would have asked 4.5" (assuming I had a choice.)

Table is Canada Billiards.
So, not to be a killjoy or a jackass, but perhaps your first inquiry needs to be "how much better can I get on this table?" How much do you play on tight tables?

I've uploaded a short video of myself playing pool and would really appreciate some constructive feedback. What I'm mainly interested in is how my stroke, stance, grip, follow-through, and overall mechanics come across to more experienced eyes.

Thanks. Also, this is my first post!
Practice Session
Didn't look at your video.
The foundation of Any home is more important than the home.
Once that's built
, then proper cue stick movement/aiming can be developed.

Watched for a minute....
It wouldn't take much to improve your game, you've got allot of moving parts already in place, but I noticed ''right off'' body movement during execution, and a bridge hand concern.
Find a good instructor.

Well, many have mentioned your movement and I think that was addressed by Mr. Jewett in the best manner possible in how to eliminate that.

As others have mentioned, it’s difficult to assess completely only seeing one rack where you get through a rack successfully, others with all the misses, bumps and warts would be more telling.

You could tighten up your PSR as well. Playing great pool consistently is about repetition, to always be the same. Your amount of feather strokes should remain the same no matter how easy or difficult the shot is, you vary, like on the 10 where you just one stroked it and let it go. Keeping it the same helps your timing.

Final note on leaning in. Another poster asked if you lean in like that to introduce more power, you didn’t reply. Look at when you shoot the 6 ball. Your intent was to put that inside on it to follow off the long rail and fall on the 7. You really leaned into that one, to the point where a grimace actually appeared on your face as you struck it, your transition on that shot was a little quick on that shot as well. These things generally occur when you’re a little apprehensive and not totally committed to the shot.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your game

It is all relative -- what are the pocket sizes? "Bucket mouths" would make a big difference.
Try aiming to hit one or the other pocket facings. Or mark the spot midway between the points and aim at that. In other words, get real specific with your aim and the pocket size will matter less.

Thanks. I seem to lean in when I need power but I don't do it on purpose. Sometimes it is less pronounced. I think it has to do with my stance. I've been concentrating on locking the back leg like suggested here. And also I've been leaning lower fromthe waste and sticking my butt out (read that somewhere). When doing this I don't need to lean in it seems.

Renderu, thanks for posting the video. You quickly became an AZB high profile poster as measured by the positive responses.

May I suggest a technique posted on AZB for shooting unique shots, such as shooting over a ball, shooting with cue ball frozen to a rail, needing extra power, etc. This may slow down your rhythm so you don't move forward and jerk your stroke. On your last stroke just say 'ladies and gentlemen'. 'Ladies' on the back stroke. 'And' on the pause. 'Gentlemen' on the forward stroke. This may help make your acceleration SMOOTH. I have had success with this.
