That could be. My attempts to watch his eye pattern often leaves me unsure of any eye movement. Predator eyes.
Watching the incredible no look shots by Venom makes me believe anything is possible.
More to be said for that than most players realize.
Pretty sure it was Either not both. Which leads me to consider what each method seems to provide. Judd Trump said object ball and is an incredible shot maker. The cueball last guys proofed cueball control down to micro precise shape. Perfect shape leads to easier shots.

it really doesnt matter as once you are lined up you can look at the ceiling if you want as long as you can move the stick forward straight.
only time i pay attention is with a real longer low draw shot as i need to be precise with my cue ball hit so i dont miscue.
most tend to look at the object ball as thats their target but would be better off looking at the whole line of travel.

I had an epiphany, from my earlier days.
Growing up in an era where others did not want you to learn/get better I remember this happening more than one time.
Sucked in.... A great player would intentionally tell you something that was seemingly correct with their salesmanship style/ego and logical explanation... etc. It kept my game back at times, they knew I was comin'.
Took longer than I expected, I expected nothing cept I always got better every 3-4 mths for a good twenty years.... why the F quit?.
