I only saw the one screen shot. It looks like he never committed to the shot, was he trying to stun over or draw back? He ended up half and half. He was worried about rattling the eight. It looks like he could have drawn back to the short rail, and back up table. With these table conditions, and his stroke, that’s an easy shot for him. Just cinch the eight, straight draw, about 70% power. That shot has a huge landing area, that doesn’t leave a back cut. I wonder if he considered that?
 
Once I recovered from losing the team match, I enjoyed this evening. The crowd was load, obnoxious and vulgar at times, but team USA played well overall. Yea, we dogged a few balls, but there were highpoints as well. SVB made me proud! Billy impressed with his bold shots and high kicks. May be too little too late but Shane won a lag & Tyler made a 9ball...Looking forward to tomorrow.

Would love to experience Ally Pally in person. I went in 2015 when it was at the Tropicana in Vegas and Team USA lost. We made it to 7 though. I lost my voice in the process. It was electric.

Might plan to go in 2027 if the MC still exists by then.

PS: I got to see Dechaine dog his brains out in person, but it still wasn't as bad as Tyler this year.

Emily did a good job of explaining the objectives of Matchroom in terms of producing pool tournaments. And offering that the MC is unique, which it is. One point that I'm glad she made is that these ten guys are the ones out there in the arena, exposing themselves to the whole world, with all their strengths and all their frailties. We here on our computers and TV's are only observers with nothing really at risk. In Tyler we all get to see our own frailties and how it feels to have them revealed. And in Shane we can rejoice in our strength. I think the heightened emotion that the MC brings to the game is what makes it so unique. See you next year! :cry:

Late to the party, but dang. Thought he’d not play a stop but a touch firmer where the cue ball would roll over….

After seeing the result, I thought what the hell do I know; I didn’t even know you couldn’t roll a ball with inside in tournament conditions yesterday when he shat the bed with the underwhelming spin.

So there’s the resulting back cut, which didn’t seem to be what should have naturally occurred based on the prior shot, but ya know those overhead cameras don’t always tell the whole story.

Well shit, I didn’t know Tyler played 14.1 because that shot is a great break shot where you don’t have to hammer down to break up the rack. He obviously plays this shot dozens of times a day… or not!?!

Until that point… It was nice to see him let his stroke out instead of babying the ball and double clutching his ass cheeks as he triple checks the line.

All I can say is that I didn't want to watch any more after the ref didn't stop tyler on the case ball at hill-hill and reset the clock and kick the pieces of crap in the audience that wouldn't shut up out.

Then I did continue to watch and the ref kept letting it happen. Total horse shit.

i would crumble as a cookie just walking to the table there. many of the WNT tour matches throughout the year looks like "yea i could do that" lol, but this is obviously an insane, insane situation to be in. pool is in itself already a mentally challenging game. now combine it with the couldron arena, the rowdy crowd, the weight of the team on your shoulders, the weight of the national fans on your shoulders, the social media, and that EVERY shot choice or execution in these short races is scrutinized.

tyler was probably the best team USA player last year, and he's had other good year(s) too. this year he is truly having a nightmare
