Best way to thin out collection cues and books... List separate, or bundle in one sell list? Wife said "Time to clean collection" Already started listing items.

If you have the time and energy sell all the good stuff individually. Bundle up the ok stuff and dump or give away the stuff nobody wants.
I’m facing a similar situation. After 60 years of collecting I guess it’s time to let it go. I’d like it to find a good home. If my family ends up with it,
it will be given away or put in a dumpster.

Selling items separate is slow and painful. You also have to be on your toes to avoid all the scumbag scammers out there. If you use a medium like eBay for the exposure, the fees kill ya.

In my opinion, if you don't mind selling at a bargain, bundling is fast, easy, and the way to go. Plus, it may keep the collection together like it should be.

I would make a list of all the items with individual prices and also offer discounts for purchasing multiple items. Listing them all separately in the Wanted/For Sale section will take a whole page in that forum and make it harder for both the forum and prospective buyers to see the offerings.

I like garage sales. I always find it sad seeing people's who have passed away having what they thought so much of just being picked over and often just thrown away.

Find someone who really wants what you have and just give it to them.
Of course if it is Truly a collectable of some value find a buyer.

As someone who recently went through the same thing in order to move. I found once something was gone I didn't give it another thought. All that stuff becomes a burden of sorts.
Truth is, you don't really care much about it.

That is a beautiful and sad read there, Mr.

Very true!!

in many or most areas there are people that will list, mail it out and collect for you for a % on e bay or face book or wherever.
simple way to get rid of stuff that has value to sell.

Send me a list, I am always looking to fill gaps in my collection
I'm slow as Molasses! Its' take almost 2 hours just listing in the Sale Section. I'm a one finger typist! Will think on sending a list or photos.

For a minute I thought I was looking at my own bookshelf. Yours aren’t identical, but there is a huge amount of overlap between yours and mine. So that might be a problem selling books as a group. Although maybe others haven’t been buying them over the years.

I’d be interested in your three cushion collection. If you wanna send me pictures of those books, I’ll let you know which ones I’m interested in thank you.

If you are going to sell the books, you'll probably have to take pictures that show all of what you have. Make every title and author legible.
