SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

...because they're worth it....

I think this is a good first step for pool and pool players. 2 best players on Earth playing each other, in middle of NYC, $50 per ticket is a bargain.
Everyone should just set stream price at $50 minimum. Eventually people will accept it LOL.
Pool fans need to start buying more tickets, streams and pack those venues on live matches. In returns, brands will sponsor, ESPN will look at pool again. Right now no company will sponsor a event that has a final championship match at 2AM on Monday, even if it was Fedor vs Filler...

The Derby City Classic is on from Jan 23 - Jan 31. Both Joshua Filler and Fedor Gorst normally go deep in the 1P tournament so there's always a good chance they'll play each other.

DCC is usually billed as being in Louisville, KY - but it's actually held at Caesars Southern Indiana, 11999 Casino Center Dr SE, Elizabeth, IN 47117.

So you could stay in Louisville - and then literally swim across the river to Elizabeth.
Or maybe skate across. These days you never know.

You make some valid points.

This match will be very entertaining, but also very informal, with crowd noise and players talking to the crowd, even to each other during play. Those who will be in attendance will get to meet and play challenge matches against these two superstars and will be able to tell their friends and family that they met two of the best that ever screwed a cue together.

As for Shane and Josh, their main order of business is to entertain, and I don't expect either player to be going for the throat here. My guess is that they'll play a set of nine ball and another of eight ball and will split sets, perhaps even taking on a wild shot or two along the way.

All the respect to the good folks at Amsterdam for delivering these two legends to the doorstep of New York City's pool community. What a great occasion it will be. I'll be in attendance and I can't wait!

48 bucks in lower Manhattan for this match is not that out of line. I’ll be interested to see the format and supposed prize fund.
This is an exhibition, no prize fund. Shane & Filler are paid to appear. Past formats have been 9-ball, 8-ball, followed by challenge matches from the audience.
