...have dropped an expensive piece of chalk down the pocket of a Diamond table.

I have done it about three times and have been able to retrieve two. Now, I've kinda trained myself to be more careful but sheet-at happens. Just a couple of days ago a brand new piece of green Pyro came tumbling down the ball return -- so sad for someone but then I'm just around break even, lol.

I use a magnetic chalk holder (currently using the Pagulayan chalk holder with my Pagulayan chalk). Not to tempt the pool gods, but I’ve never dropped a piece in the pocket, because it’s always on the holder except when I’m chalking and I don’t chalk over the table.

No but.... I moved back to S.Dak. after 25 years in the DFW. 1 decent hall in Sioux Falls , Rack City , anyways I called a buddy back in Texas and told him Jack Hines would love this place keys, phones, cues, and wallets just laying around.

All that and some guys steal my Pagulyon chalk. But I did find a new piece in the chalk box at the counter.

Left a pag with mag holder on the rail last week. Noticed it yesterday. Someone scored.

My very organized girlfriend has made me labels with my name and number on them. I put them on things like my chalk, moose head bridge, extension. It doesn’t stop a determined thief but does help a good person get you back your stuff! Plus I think most people are less inclined to just pocket it if they actually know who they are stealing from rather than treating it like a found $20 bill on the floor.

Hey, I’ve been hearing about Rack City, what can you tell us about it.
Lots of league play. Iirc 14 Diamond barbox hourly tables , 2 diamond 9 footers , 4 Valley bar boxes. Clean with reasonable priced food ( airfryer) and pizzas.

Marc Phillips is a part owner and great friendly guy. He and a couple others offer lessons.

Weekly trnmnt and other tournaments thru out the year.

I haven't done it once. I try to place it in the middle of the rail.

I was gonna say ...

I dropped chalk into the return 2x and both times it came out by itself...and not right away.

I had a new piece of Great White with a magnet on it, a team mate wanted to borrow it so I left it with him and said I would get it next week. The next week I ask for it back and he informs it went down the pocket on the table, I said no problem, just get me another piece. He says he figures he don't owe me a piece of chalk because it was the guy he was playing that knocked it down the pocket and I should collect from him. You cant argue with that kind of stupidity.:mad:

I lost a chalk of my opponent once (in a pocket of a Diamond table) and we were able to retrieve it with the light of a smartphone and a cue. It's not as lost as one might think. With the light of the smartphone you can see where the chalk lands (looking in the opening of the ball return.) and then its oftentimes possible to get hold of it with a long stick (like the one we use all the time for playing pool).
