How Many of You...

I had a new piece of Great White with a magnet on it, a team mate wanted to borrow it so I left it with him and said I would get it next week. The next week I ask for it back and he informs it went down the pocket on the table, I said no problem, just get me another piece. He says he figures he don't owe me a piece of chalk because it was the guy he was playing that knocked it down the pocket and I should collect from him. You cant argue with that kind of stupidity.:mad:
I would kick his cue over every time I walked past it...

...have dropped an expensive piece of chalk down the pocket of a Diamond table.

I have done it about three times and have been able to retrieve two. Now, I've kinda trained myself to be more careful but sheet-at happens. Just a couple of days ago a brand new piece of green Pyro came tumbling down the ball return -- so sad for someone but then I'm just around break even, lol.

Play on 'Drop Pocket or No Pocket' tables!

I have never lost chalk in a pocket that I can recall.

About 25 years ago I bought a magnetic chalk holder that clips onto a belt, sweat pants or just about anything. It has an amazingly powerful magnet and combined with the superb clip it is one of my must have pool items.

I lost it I once for about six months then found it while vacuuming my office. During that time I tried many others and none were even close to my old standby.

No idea where I bought it or from who. Go figure..

No, but you can punch it in the face 🤷‍♂️

I've done it several times on my Pro Am...I can usually reach it via the pocket, but when I can't, I follow it with four or five balls, then I can rake it out from the ball return with my break cue. I try not to keep too many cubes on the rail at a time, but s@#t happens...but then again, I'm a Masters guy, so no panic if I lose one.

for me, it was sitting on the rail and the back of my cue knocked it in.

it was a leather chalker i made 10+ years ago with a piece of pagulayan in. the chalker has very strong magnets in it and i was worried it might get stuck to something inside the table.

i failed to retrieve it and left, but I texted one of the guys that works at the room and begged him to help me out. He told me the best way to get stuff out with a bridge is to take the bridge head off, insert the top of the handle into the ball return box, then reattach the bridge head once its inside. from here he was able to rake the chalker out.

i tipped him a fiver for the favor

No but.... I moved back to S.Dak. after 25 years in the DFW. 1 decent hall in Sioux Falls , Rack City , anyways I called a buddy back in Texas and told him Jack Hines would love this place keys, phones, cues, and wallets just laying around.

All that and some guys steal my Pagulyon chalk. But I did find a new piece in the chalk box at the counter.
I walked over to get a beer the other day at Rack Daddy's and my Magic Chalk cube "disappeared." I was so irritated that I had five more beers! 🤣

The reason why my expensive chalk lasts about a year and a half is because I leave it back with my cues lol I only chalk once at the beginning of each game. I knew if I carried it to the table I would absolutely lose it lol

I tried one of those holders with a very powerful magnet. I would literally drag metal bar stools with me as I went past them if I got too close to them. Annoying AF.

I use a chalk holder on a stick. Works great.

Lol. One of the guys I have come over to play has dropped a few V10s. Only one has showed up in the ball return so far. It’s annoying! I actually don’t like round shape chalk. I now like the Pagulayan.

Pro tip: There is a slot at the end of 9' Diamond tables opposite from the racking end -- you can just barely squeeze a mechanical bridge in and with the help of your cell phone flashlight you can often fish out errant chalk.

Same slot also on the 7’ Diamonds. I’ve fished chalk out for people using a house cue.
