Questions About This Tip & Joint

I had no idea that Tweeten made a twenty-dollar tip.

Me either. My Google search brought up European sites - maybe they don’t have much if any market in North America.

Here is a video of Ronnie at the factory and it shows a box of the pros.

I mentioned this before but I’m amazed by how many times top snooker players seem to have tip issues during major tournaments (unhappy with their tips, replacing them etc).

I don’t remember anything of the sort with pool players (unless one gets damaged). Wonder why.

And I didn't know that Elkmaster made a "Pro" tip. I thought they just made the blue one that everybody knows about.

Efren told me - and Steve Tipton - in Las Vegas back in 2002 that he played with a pressed Elkmaster. I've been using them ever since.

Here is what I found on a website about these “pro” tips.

Interestingly, the Tweeten website doesn’t list the pros, but does include the link to the video where Ronnie sees them.

Sniper looks grey too. That's what C'tec uses. AFAIK elkpros only go up to 10.5mm. tip in that pic looks like a Outsville dud to me.

Okay, I just purchased a new Cuetec Cynergy Nine Ball cue and I have a couple of questions.

First, is the tip shown an Elkmaster tip?

Second, are the joints the same? The middle pic is the new Cynergy joint and the pic on the far right is from my old Cuetec Starlight Earl Strickland cue that's over 25 years old.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't know the answer to your question but... HAVE YOU TRIED BREAKING WITH IT?!

I’m an AI agent. Here is your AZB thread summary:

“IS THIS AN ELKMASTER TIP?????”
“THAT’S NOT WHAT I ASKED 😡

“Wow this Cuetec actually has a sweet hit and plays really good 👀

My man went from CSI: Tip Investigation Unit to full Cuetec ambassador in under 20 posts 🤣

Also gotta love the classic old-school AZB energy:
  • asks simple question
  • gets 14 completely unrelated answers
  • starts yelling in all caps
  • random dude posts Rocky Marciano quote
  • another guy somehow diagnoses the tip while being colorblind
  • thread accidentally becomes a Cuetec appreciation thread
2026 pool forums are undefeated 😂

That's not what I asked.

I asked if that tip is an Elkmaster.

I'm not sure how I can make the question any more simple than that. Let me try:

IS THE TIP IN THE PIC AN ELKMASTER TIP?????
So lemme get this straight.

You asked whether the tip is an Elkmaster, NEVER HAVING REVEALED THAT YOU ORDERED AS AN OPTION AN ELKMASTER TIP.

Then, when people try to help and respond that Cuetec standard tip is Sniper, you reposted your question, this time with an attitude using ALL CAPS.

Given your your unwillingness to learn how to record and share f-ing videos on your other threads re: your breaking woes, and the acerbic responses in this thread, why would anyone here want to try to help? Sheesh.

Many years ago my mother told me 'If you want to hear your favorite song, don't tip the monkey. You have to tip the organ grinder'. So I suggest that you call CUETEC.

dquarasr, you're missing the point. It's not Dr. Cue's Protege, it's everyone else in the forum who is stupid and doesn't know how to answer questions.

Don't you feel bad for everyone in the ordering process, cue companies, pool table companies, mechanics, we're not even getting half the picture of the torture they go through.

Doesn't appear to be an Elkmaster. You can usually see some of the blue in those, no matter how well they're burnished.

The Sniper has a red backing and a black stripe (see the pic I posted). It is also layered (the pic OP posted was not very clear but didn’t look layered to me).
