WNT's new sponsor Dynaspheres' Titan series. New ball colors for UK Open. I wonder how many pros will pause before they fire at their designated shot. Look at that cue ball.

Tried to watch the stream while drinking coffee this morning and couldn’t figure out the layout so I just doom scrolled instead.

Another case of oh lets reinvented the proverbial wheel / pool balls again ? The players will not get to add another thing to their pre shot routine making sure they're about to shoot the right ball .

I realise I'm getting old because I've done that very same thing a few years ago while playing a game of 10 ball I wasn't thinking and shot a ball out of order ha ha on well I guess this is a sign of the times to keep us all confused !
 
Reminds me of the 2004 Glass City Open semifinals. The morning before the start, BCN and Pat Fleming offer the semifinalist (Hillbilly, Kid Delicious, Corey Deuel, and Troy Frank) $100, subject to check, if they'd play with these balls. The cue ball was black. Troy couldn't believe his eyes as he pawed at the black cue ball. Pat Fleming had trouble containing his laughter when he saw the reactions. They all said no.

The light blue 2 was on the rail near the corner pocket, and it kind of blended in with the Shark-grey cloth. Jayson shoots the 3 in the side and then gets that deer-in-headlights look when a foul is called. Poor guy. He still won the match, though.
 
I have a slight bit of understanding why they may want to change the colors of the pool balls for the sake of the TV viewing public however why can't they adapt the camera's to get a better quality picture of the table and the balls ?

Granted my experience as a camera op has been motocross and rodeo events but still the camera lens needed to be focused for changing light conditions when shooting a outdoor event .

My question is why not do that for pool matches and leave to color of the pool balls as a standard to reduce any potential confusion for the players along with the viewers at home ?

And don’t forget how many players and clubs bought the Aramith Black sets to get used to the colors for WNT events (a lot of smaller events out there)
Now they have to change again.

The cheap Chinese market is killing the European market, for years pro events used Simonis and Aramith (both Belgium) and now it’s CPBA and Dynaspheres

Here are the new balls on the table. The 9 looks like a 10 ball on the stream.

I have been a fan of Matchroom & WNT but this kind of thing really makes you question their judgment. No one liked the purple 5 ball and now they are tripling down on it with an even worse set of balls.
