Jasmin Ouschan figuring out her dad's old full deflection Meucci

I find it interesting that those cues were advertised as "zero deflection"
I don't know about zero, but if you watch the old Jim Rempe/Loree John Jones instructional video which was produced by Meucci (and is basically a big Meucci advertisement), they do mention several times that Meucci cues have the lowest deflection on the market (this was before Predator). I think Meucci did coin the term, deflection. That video can be found on YOUTUBE.

Yep, Bob never stated his cues had zero deflection. They were lower than cues of that same era. Just about every top player in the 80's-90's used one at one time or another. Cool video, glad she kept the cue and is knockin' the cobwebs off.

That was a good video! I wonder how good her dad was. Must have been a pro is my guess.

IDK if the shaft was a Meucci though... the ferrule looked all wrong. Too short, and not the yellowish color. Obviously the shaft was a custom order since it was about 3" longer, but whether it was made by Meucci or a local builder, who knows.

Incidentally, anytime I play with anything other than a Predator shaft today, I play just like Jasmin did. I find it nuts that people still think Predators are all marketing bs. Where is joeyincali, he's the biggest that they are marketing bs.

I was thinking if this was a Meucci shaft that should be fairly low deflection for a wood shaft, but perhaps it's not a Meucci shaft and is more like a traditional old school wood shaft.

The difference is big for sure and it takes some time to adjust. There was a time when I was bouncing between low deflection carbon shafts and a South West Satin with full 13mm wood shafts and my takeaways were that you can adapt and learn to play well with either, for sure, but the lower the deflection the more forgiving it is to either slight mis hits on the CB or to slight mis judgement in how much compensation is needed for deflection. The South West was a lot of fun and I loved the feel of playing with it, but eventually had to move it on to remove the temptation and stick with the setup that gave me the best performance.

Great video and better yet it has Jasmine. One of the sweetest girls on the planet. Nice to see her put out a fun video like this.

Her and Alvin are very fortunate to live in one of the EU countries that put their own citizens first and put the hammer down on immigration..
Poland did as well and neither country has the total chaos and nonsense the others are experiencing.

Not trying to side track the conversation just proud of countries that care for their own first!!!

Not quite the Revo feel she's used to.

I recently picked up a Meucci JR3 from the mid 80s so right around the same age. It doesn’t have a lot of deflection but doesn’t have ultra low either. It’s 13mm with 1 1/8” ferrule. This is pre-dot. I can’t put it down. It just reminds me of that sweet Meucci hit with which I grew up. Fits me very well.

Her dad was very strong. A former Austrian national champion: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albin_Ouschan_senior
