Justin Bergman vs Tom Cousins

just speaking out my butt, but im guessing 5k winner 3k loser.

or if the ppv is bigger 10 and say 6k.

there is a bigger game down at the local bar, i think i will go watch that instead.

Like others have said, it's mainly because they see patterns better and Tom Cousins moves around the table without a care in the world. Seriously, it looked like nothing ever bothers that guy.

On a side note, and I'm sure it's because of the KC open and the UP promoters did not want this to be any longer, but a race to 30 barbox 8 ball for $100k? I do not care for these dopey long set matches, but does anyone else think it should have been a race to 50?

But that’s what makes the game hard. Because the other guy can do that too. Pressure matters. I don’t know you and I try not to generalize too much or disparage so pardon this…but that 12pack likely wasn’t in the heat. When the other guy can keep you sitting for a half hour it’s different. There’s a reason why it doesn’t happen even in pro events with the best in the world with extremely rare exceptions.

I’ve got a couple double digit ones myself but they don’t really count cuz it was for nothing. My largest pack of BB8 that matters is 5 and you better believe I’ve had many chances to beat that lol. *woof woof

My argument is that 8ball on a barbox with big pockets is not as hard as 8ball on a tight 9ft table. in fact it's much easier and having pros play in such conditions is nothing more that a joke, cheap

Not making excuses for Justin, but coul his new cue maybe have been a factor in the loss?

I'm thinking he was still getting used to it, but his problem seemed to be with his break, either scratching or coming up dry. He started having success with it after changing it up, then missed once and switched it again. I believe Johnny went to him and relayed some advice from Appleton to go back to the break that was working. He did that and things started coming together. His position play and shot making seemed pretty typical of him.

Why not compare to 8ball on 9ft tables with tight pockets.
I doubt if Tom tries out a big 8ball event, that he will get far, definitely not at start without enough practice and experience.
Put him on a 9ft table with 4 inch pockets against Filler and he’ll get smoked, same for Bergman…

Filler would smoke a lot of people. Not sure how Tom would cope with 9ft table, not sure if he's played much snooker. He definitely wouldn't be phased by 4 inch pockets. U.S pool balls are 2.25 inches so they still only take up 62.5% of a pocket, which is the same ratio of ball size to pocket size in English pool. I'd argue English pool tables 4 of the pockets are cut in a tougher way to pot into (used to play English pool and now play 9 ball on a 9ft table with 4 inch pockets and potting a ball down a rail is 100 times easier on the American table), but I think the cut of the side pockets is maybe tougher on an American table. Arguably the biggest thing for Tom to adjust to is the cue ball being the same size as the object balls (obviously didn't hold him back against Bergman though).
