The Stevie Chan Memorial tournament kicked off today in Aurora, CO at Piazza's. 171 players turned out for a $130 entry fee tournament with EVEN races to 7, bar table 9B!! So awesome to see an Open tournament get this kind of participation. Some of the favorites are SVB, Joe Prince (defending champion), Shane Thompson, Tom D'Alfonso, TJ Steinhaus, Manny Perez, and Sharik Sayed. I don't know the actual number off the top of my head, but I believe there was over 40K in the Calcutta. Nice payday for someone this weekend!

I believe they are streaming it live all weekend on Piazza's YouTube channel for free.

Well, you got your next one. Looks like you play another good one at 11:00 MDT per bracket. TJ and Joe Prince will meet up if they each win their next one. Good tournament, I have watched a bit of the stream. Interesting mix of players.

SVB had a pretty good record before that, winning 42 games and losing just 9 in his prior 6 matches. He will play either Shane Thompson or Adam Sisneros in the semifinal match; if he wins that one he'll play Steinhaus again in the Final. So not an easy road on the 7-footer.
