Reggie comes in a good bit still but usually not in the evenings. Problem is, most of the people Im matching up with are at Top Hat. I'm already spotting some of them simply because I can out play and position them, but they are out moving me. Last thing I need is them watching me get "lessons" and ask for even more weight.
Fine. Buy my diamond and have your lessons at home?
I wish I could fit it. I have an 8ft at home and that's too big for the room it's in LOL.

i think the agreed upon opinion is that book wise, winning one pocket and tom wirth's book are the best books. i haven't read them, but i've read upscale one pocket and it's quite rudimentary. i wouldn't bother with it.
i think it's beneficial to watch videos/streams of older players of a slightly lower than top tier level, ike runnels, john henderson, etc. they have the moves, and they need to use the moves a lot more than a pure shooter. or than a wizard like chohan

Tom Wirth has a YouTube channel with some excellent videos...
For a book, the best available for someone who is starting out is Steve Booth's. He covers everything from the rules to somewhat advanced strategies.
Dr. Dave and I did a 5-video series on one pocket, if visual learning is better for you.
Eddie Robin's two books, "Winning One Pocket", and "Shots, Moves & Strategies", have a lot of ideas and info, but they're pretty expensive. If you haunt Ebay and are patient, you can get them for maybe $300 and $200 respectively. Add 50% and you will find them a lot faster. If you find them "cheap", you will probably be able to sell them for at least what you paid. It looks like there is a SM&S up now on Ebay for $212 with free shipping.

I won't pretend to know or even care about their brand of grind but pool is pool to me.
Basics - as much as you can stand. Shoot multiple ball shots. Take outs, safes, escapes, doesn't matter which kinds or where they go. They all show ball control and management. IOW, what the balls will and are going to do which;
you then absorb for strategic application.
And don't forget the outs - all 15 should be the premise for that workout.

Someone posted in the Wanted forum that they would pay to borrow a copy of Winning One Pocket. I would do that for you or anyone on here with good feedback. Maybe $60 + shipping for two months, with a $250 deposit F&F refunded when the book is returned. Or something similar that worked for the borrower.
