Bad home table

I was at a party over a friends house over the weekend and the homes table was SO BAD. It was a no name 8 footer, table wasn't level, cloth was loose, Animal hair on the table. Cue tips were hard and didn't hold chalk. It was amazing that i could run four balls.

I've mentioned it on here before, but when my kids were elementary age and we had kids parties, it was always surprising to me how many other homes had pool tables.

Tables all sucked and I never hit a ball at a single one but I woulda given the 8 to any of them people.

I guess I am getting to be a pool snob. I don't enjoy playing on bad equipment. I also get bothered with people that don't take care of their stuff.
Same here.
I’ve been playing in an 8ball league at this pretty big pool hall that is far from perfect conditions but was tolerable for a while, last 6 months they really let the place go.
I decided to quit the league and stop going there.
Businesses should respect their patrons a bit more to take my money.

The local hall near me used to be an absolute POS. I never could understand why people would play there. They did finally move to all Diamonds but their food still sucks.

Those tables would be like old home week to me. I guess somebody was a hell of a salesman during or right after WWII because everything in my home area that had a sign in front of it had a pool table.

Wooden floors with no subfloor. The gaps between the floor boards were big enough to sweep the cigarette butts through.

The funniest thing was that the leveling device of choice was the pasteboard beer coasters. What was funny is that they was often an inch or more of coasters under all four legs!

None of these tables had ever had the cloth changed.

The beer is the same everywhere. Good food can make the difference deciding where to go.

I never went to bars because of the food. If they had food, it wasn't very often I'd indulge. There was a bar/club we'd go to after 2 a.m. and they sold barbecue burgers. At that time of the night, I couldn't tell you if they were actually good, or the alcohol had us thinking they were.
